unfortunately video will not be supported in 8.4. We are working on Video support but we cannot make any promise when and in which version of Live it will come.

And then, if hopefully more and more people say 'How long do we need to wait further until you finally release 8.4, you should make a poll about the quality of the beta. Hi db2, we will release 8.4 when we think (and actually see from the usage data) that it is ready for primetime, whenever that is. So it is very hard to give you an estimation. Regarding which version you should use, I would also recommend to install both versions, the current 32-bit release version...
