The noise doesn't bother me much, because I have fairy dirty production tastes. :) It runs pretty warm as we...

Since I'm currently torturing myself in my last year at college I was lucky enough to get an education discount. So... It was about 1600 not including tax.

...If there was no such thing as war then the human race would have died out a long long long long time ago through overpopulation and starvation.... That is an absolutly, undeniably false statement. Conventional war has little influence on the survival of the human species. The earth is a closed s...

Not too shabby. I would compress the kick more. It needs to snap, if you know what I mean. It's a bit repetative for my taste. I'd like to hear a little more variation in the drum tracks.

I would go for Zeta and Vanguard. You'd save a little cash, and pick up all of Vanguard's killer rythmic capabilities in the process.

There is no other DAW out there that is more powerful or more flexible than Live 4.0. The key is that Live adapts to your way of working, instead of the other way around. If you can't craete interesting music with Live, you probably never will!

DNTEL and The Postal Service are both awesome. Along similar lines you may want to try:

Frou Frou: Details
Halou: Wiser

Both are a little glitchy and a little poppy, with fabulous female vocalists.

Last year I replaced ProTools with Live 3.0. Now that 4.0 is here I haven't used Reason at all. I have yet to uninstall it, but it could happen in the near future. I'm loving the Live, Simpler, Impulse, and Vanguard combo. Simple, inspiring, and sounds so damn good.
