Re: Importing Ableton midi files into the MPC2000xl: possible?

Try it the other way around then, with Live as the master. Set the MPC to external clock. It's also worth asking Akai, as it's their product that's having an issue. They have a support area http://community.akaipro.com/akai_professional and also a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/AkaiPro Send...

Re: Importing Ableton midi files into the MPC2000xl: possible?

Try to use external instrument and play the midi sequence directly into the MPC and then save the sequence to disk. Yes but there will be a lag between when I hit play in Ableton and rec in the MPC, I already tried recording MIDI directly in the MPC but the timing is screwed If I do more attempt I ...

Re: Importing Ableton midi files into the MPC2000xl: possible?

Re: Importing Ableton midi files into the MPC2000xl: possible?

I already do that, import in Pro Tools, export, and the MPC load it fine.... except I lose all the control change automations... I don't understand why...

IS it Live that doesn't export control changes?

Re: Importing Ableton midi files into the MPC2000xl: possible?

Are you using external instrument ? What do you want .midi file for? Drums? What is one the midi track in love you are trying to record? What's the difference between using external instrument and sending the midi using a midi out? The point is that if I want to record midi from Ableton to the MPC ...

Importing Ableton midi files into the MPC2000xl: possible?

Hello I'm trying to import an Ableton midi file (ultra simple, just to check, notes, no automations) into the MPC2000xl and I'm not able to do this When I load the Ableton midi file into the MPC I get "Error at 0000:7E21" and the MPC freezes and I need to turn it off and on again Why that? Is there ...

Re: I give up, Ableton, I really do. PDC/timing/hardware issues,

i typically listen to my vocals with the audio in the background of my headset so that i'm not laying vocals over silence ffs therefore direct monitoring is insignificant. fixed so the Pros know what i meant. have mercy. good luck with your wish list. I'm sorry if I sounded rude or a...

Re: I give up, Ableton, I really do. PDC/timing/hardware issues,

look man, the OP is a pro or sort of (that's easily understandable by his posts) and he is using Ableton as a pro would do Meaning a pro would ever record monitoring from the speakers (unless in certain occasions and placing the mic out of phase with the speakers). That is because the bleeding from ...

Re: I give up, Ableton, I really do. PDC/timing/hardware issues,

i would imagine that you could find several members of the forum (at least) that have successfully made music without the need for direct monitoring; therefore, "crucial" is subjective. Yes, I didn't mean that, but depends on the way someone is working, if you do everything using VI ITB and you pro...

Please expand. Are you referring to the technical part or to the rant? Because the rant is obviously a subjective opinion. The tech stuff is not.

Re: I give up, Ableton, I really do. PDC/timing/hardware issues,

How does monitoring via the direct output have anything to do with being able to PLAY an instrument? You think it is funny? Actually morerecords has been teased by all the crowd here but he is actually right. He doesn't have to explain why he wants to monitor DIRECT because that's the right c...

Re: Ableton Rewire Windows Dimension: How to do this?

yeah, but can't become so small, I've already tried this... the arrange and the clips view remain visible, I can't resize it that small dragging the window bottom right corner

could it be because I'm on a mac and this works only in windows?

Ableton Rewire Windows Dimension: How to do this?

Hello I'm using Ableton in rewire with Pro Tools and I'd like to be able to do this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsdAc0IDFnQ As you can see, Ableton is as small as a plug in so doesn't occupy a lot of space How to do this? I'm not able to hide the tracks and keep only the plug in Thanks so much
