Looking to swap drums and still use tune/decay

Hello,

Currently I can build my own drum kit by dragging new drums onto the onscreen drum pads. The sample will switch but then I lose functionality with the tune and decay controls. I am using the Ableton Session Drum packs.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Chris

Composing with music notation in Live? Suggestions?

Are there any good (hopefully free or inexpensive) programs I can use to compose music with traditional music notation and then easily play it back in Live 8?

Thanks for any ideas!

I have Live Suite 8 but the "Amp" effect is empty.

I tried authorizing it on the site but still there is nothing listed when I expand the "Amp" menu in Live 8. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

Is there a good way to combine two tracks into one?

I am trying take a stereo recording of a guitar and combine the right and left mics into one mono track. Thanks for any help. Seems like it should be simple but I just can't think of how to do this.

Best way to compose strings with legato and staccato notes

What is the best way to compose strings with legato and staccato notes in the same melody line? Do I have to have two different tracks going, one for each type of playing?

Thanks for any help.

Media files are missing...

I get this a lot with Ableton I have noticed. So I bought a new laptop and installed Live 8 suite plus EIC 2. Start it up and load a string ensemble and it says "Media files are missing..." at the bottom of the screen. I run the automatic search and there are no "candidates". The...

Re: How can I create a slow volume fade-in for a song?

Thanks for the replies.

Dtrue17, I am not to familiar with Ableton yet but I had noticed what you pointed out but I was wondering if there was a way to do that with all tracks at once rather than each track individually.

How can I create a slow volume fade-in for a song?

Hi there,

Starting from no sound at all, how can I slowly fade in a song?

Also, is there a way to play audio tracks backwards? Looking to do some Jimi Hendrix style backwards guitar effects.

Thanks,

Chris

Where does 'collect all and save' actually save to?

I am trying to backup my songs in case of a hard drive failure. I have read that the way to do that is to use the 'Collect all and save' under the 'File' drop-down menu. Apparently I need to do this for every song. Where is Ableton saving this stuff so I can copy it to a flash drive? I am using a PC...

Problems with Session Drums files (missing media)
