to add to just what i posted: Using MIDI yoke somewhat solves the problem of syncing 2 instances of Ableton Live. However, you cannot load a third song into this setup with out having the audio stop completely for both programs. well after trying various setup possibilities and suggestions from othe...

Sadly Rewire doesnt allow 2 sets of ableton Live programs to sync together. if im wrong please correct me, bec i already tried it. however i downloaded MIDI yoke, and i used this to sync 2 ableton Live programs by assigning the MIDI in's and out's of each program to MIDI Yoke's ports. in the first t...

ah now i get it. the 30 scenes per midi channel you were referring to are the actually keyboard keys itself. i have an Ozone keyboard controller/audio interface, it has 25 keys. it's more than enough. anyway my gig is still on the 13th so i think there's still time to try your suggestion of merging ...

thanks for the suggestion! unfortunately, your suggestion would be easy to do if i had only a few clips per song. right now a set that i did consists of about 32 clips, representing different elements of the song (loops, basslines, synth arps, vocals, fx, etc) i 'build' the arrangement in real time....

the saved sets that i have contains clips that make up the track, so the 1st track let's say holds the main loop, 2nd track, basslines, 3rd track, synth arps, etc. essentially i 'build' the song manually as i see fit. anyway i experimented on this: i put the 2nd song (a huge clip that's mixed alread...

hi, am the guy who started this post..just forgot to log in before. anyway, i experimented with this: a live set (in session mode) for the first song, but the second song is a huge long clip (with correct markers) already loaded with the 1st song. so when im ready to do the 2nd song, i just thin out...

how to play Live sets smoothly from one song to another?
got a dillemma here. ive just done 10 Live sets (in session mode, not arranged) but in my excitement i dont know how to chain them all together for a live gig. I cannot use the A -> B crossover feature because there are too many clips in each set that i did. and in order to do that, i have to physic...

if u chose not to save the .asd files, the warp settings are still saved, but only with and for the song itself. if u load that same clip to another set, it will load with the default warp settings, not the ones u previously edited. Acid files u can probably go without saving the .asd files because ...

Re: To .asd or not to .asd?
sometimes some loops arent edited or looped properly when it loads so you have to edit/define the warp points right? if you save the settings for the loop it creates an .asd file for future reference. it's better to have "create analysis files" on , that way if youre using the same clip in...

Re: Live 3 and loops/audio from CDs
it's better to copy all your files in the CD to the hard disk, it's not that difficult. normally copying all the files would take about 3-4 minutes or less. when u are finished composing your live set, just hit 'save as Set' and all the files/clips youve used will be saved/duplicated in a new folder...

Re: Interesting viewpoint Mr Guest
i do think that most of the hotshot producers today, if anything else, get their ideas from electronica and infuse pop/commericial sensibility and writing with it Also, synth companies constantly bring out new products based on electronic musicians needs, and of course the producers would also likel...
