Re: consolidate file: Sonarworks Reference warning - why?
I get the same warning as you when I consolidate audio. I guess that's just the way Reference 4 was programmed. Better safe than sorry. Did you check if your consolidated file sounds different than before the consolidation? That way you could make sure that the audio wasn't passed through Reference ...

How to sort VST plug-ins by manufacturer (Mac OS X)?
Ableton Live sorts all Audio Units by manufacturer although they are stored in the same folder in Mac's Finder without any subfolder for the manufacturer. I guess showing them in their virtual subfolders is done by the Live browser itself. When I look at my VSTs, they all show up in one folder in th...

Re: A general question to intermediate and experienced producers
It can really help to work on multiple projects at once, as others have mentioned before. What has turned out to be an important aspect for me is to make sure the core of something is there before I leave it for later. This can either be that everything important is there in the music already or tha...

Re: Label wants me to pay for mastering, etc.
It looks as if the label doesn't want to do what a label would traditionally do: Take the financial risk and only get paid if the sales are high enough. They make you pay their expenses so it is no risk for them. Not a fair way of doing business but I have seen this happening a lot. It seems to get ...

Re: Live and MTC
Unfortunately there is no simple solution for this. Live can't send MTC at all. I compose music for cinema and regularly have to send MTC to another program that hosts and plays the video files. This is the best solution that I found so far: Create LTC in another program. Reaper - http://www.reaper....

Re: Plugins and iLok
Four years of iLok, four years of drama. It seems to be the fault of another well known company, not the iLok manufacturer itself. Their plug-ins would often crash Ableton Live if a session was started with those plug-ins in use. The iLok can rest in the same USB slot for months without ever moving ...

Re: OS X Live assertion failed libxpc.dylib Flooding breach
Not to Celemony. Ableton got informed from the other guy who still had an open support case when we found out.

Re: OS X Live assertion failed libxpc.dylib Flooding breach
I had to deal with this problem for nearly a year (OS X Yosemite) and Ableton's support couldn't find out what was going on. Then I had contact with another user who had the same problem and we solved it for us without the support involved: Before the messages disappeared, I had wiped my hard drive ...

Re: Ableton gets slooooooooooooow
I had this issue for 6 - 9 months. With the same line in console as you. 4000 entries every six seconds. Ableton's technical support checked my sessions and log files. They couldn't find out why this happened. Even formatting the hard drive and reinstalling it didn't help since I used the migration ...

Re: Puzzling issue - anyone know what's up?!
When you take a look at Console while Ableton Live is slow, do you see the whole log filled with messages likes this one? 20.09.15 17:20:07,429 Live[661]: assertion failed: 14F27: libxpc.dylib + 33325 [5C829202-962E-3744-8B50-00D38CC88E84]: 0x13 20.09.15 17:20:07,435 Live[661]: assertion failed: 14F...

Re: U-he appreciation
I don't know Alchemy but work a lot with DIVA and Zebra 2. From these two, Zebra would be my go to synth for pads. The nearly endless possibilities to modulate things are what makes it so usefull.

Re: Issue with zebra2.
Sorry to hear that. Zebra 2 is working fine for me after the update to 9.2 and I have never seen the screen from your picture. Maybe something got corrupted in your computer? You could try rescanning your VSTs or installing Zebra 2 again.

Re: Convolution Reverb Pro, No sound
No solution to offer but letting you know that you are not alone with the problem. Same thing happening here in 9.1 since a few weeks ago. Audio stream through Convolution Pro comes and goes as it wants. I didn't see any clear pattern why and when this is happening yet.

Re: Template?/ Issue
I was using a very big drum rack in my template in Live 9 and had loads of crashes with it. After switching to the 64 bit version, these crashes immediatelly stopped. I have 16 GB of RAM available but the 32 bit version could use only four of it. It seems that in my case the crashes might have had t...

Re: Replacing an mp3 for a wav in Ableton
I have used Brian's solution very often in the previous years. Make sure that the audio content of the new WAV file is exactly the same as in the MP3, then you won't even notice that it got replaced (besides of a better sound quality). If the MP3 has a 200 ms gap of silence in the beginning, edit th...
