I've been using live and reaktor since a long time now, never had any problem...
live 3 + reaktor 4 = fine
4 + 4 = always fine
5 + 5 = even better !!!

I also use R5. have you been looking in the "automation" folder in your library ?
R5>Instruments>automation...
here you'll find 4 different kind of automated Lfo assignable to any controler of an ensemble.
