Re: PLEASE!! bring back ableton 8 features

Right click in the window where you draw your clip automation. I dont have Live 9 installed so can't be any more specific. It was definitely in the beta.

Re: PLEASE!! bring back ableton 8 features

Live 9 still has the relative clip automation, but it has also introduced the absolute clip automation which is the default. If you right click in the clip automation envelope window you can switch between the two.

Re: Ableton & Logic sound (yes I know...)

if you're working with ableton only...avoid summing up on it's master bus..... that's where most daws fuck it up.... harrisson mix bus is a good choice for that, if you don't have the money for summing with metric halo and those stuff... Can you explain what it is that DAWs fuck up with summing? Di...

Re: Is that +62dBFS headroom a really really bad idea?

Remember that a large proportion of Live's functionality is aimed at performing live. In this situation the live performer doesn't really have time to spend ages gain staging everything that they add to the performance. They only have to keep an eye on the master channel and not have to worry about ...

Re: Ableton Support response to Live 9 PDC

Have you replied asking them to clarify?

I dont really see how PDC and SRC are related. Perhaps explain that you were specifically interested in PDC and that you dont understand their reply detailing SRC issues.

Re: APC40 v.s PUSH

Its a shame the APC40 is so bulky though. Push is 3 kilos. And its about the same size. Sorry, I mean its bulky in relation to the functionality it provides, when compared to the Push. That's a hell of a lot of desk space to give up if I'm only ever going to use the APC for transport and the odd mu...

That toggles automation recording in session view.

See this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... QDuH8_k0#!

Interesting that in the video, that very button appears with different icons.

Re: APC40 v.s PUSH

Someone made a good point over on the Maschine forum, that putting the encoders above the lcd screen is a bit of a silly idea as your arms are going to block the view of the screen. :? If you're sat down that's not true at all, try it. You simply look under your wrist, and that's far more ergonomic...

Re: APC40 v.s PUSH

It seems to me that the APC40 is focused more towards controlling transport and mixer functions i.e. dedicated solo, mute, rec, pan and sends per track. The Push is clearly aimed more at composition. At least that's how I would see myself using the two together. Its a shame the APC40 is so bulky tho...

Re: Too Much Parallel Compression?

However, does it become a bit overkill on everything? Why don't you try it and see? If it sounds good then keep it, if not then stop doing it. I know that's not very helpful, but only you know what you like and how you want things to sound. Trial and error is the only way to learn what creates the ...

Re: Can you freeze master effects?

Surely rendering the entire Live set is effectively freezing the master track..?

Just do that and import the resulting audio back into the original set or into a new one.

Re: Resampling quality: carbon copy or less?

When you resample, the new clip is recorded at whatever sample and bit rate you have Live set to. This obviously may be a lower sample and bit rate than the original material. Also, experiment with the track routing of your resample track. For the input try Master as well as the Resample option. I s...

Re: DJ looking for original Techno

Beatport is your friend for this sort of stuff. Check out Joseph Capariti. I particularly like Galaxy Express LINK It's pretty dark and dry, sounds like just the sort of stuff you're after. Other artists to check out.. Adam Beyer - always a techno mainstay. Sasha Carassi - slightly less well known ...
