Re: Groove - Am I missing something?
Ok, thanks for the replies guys. I have tinkered with it and I see how it works, though I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something mindblowing ;-) I find the whole concept interesting, especially when you hear about people loving the swing of old drum machines (MPC etc). As long as there's nothi...

Groove - Am I missing something?
Hi All, Is the Groove functionality simply for people who program rigidly, maybe using quantisation, and then want to add a bit of randomness and swing to their music? If I'm purposely programming my music to already avoid that rigidity, is there any use for the Groove functionality? May seem like a...

Recording External Audio - Low Signal :-(
Hi All, I really hope someone can help with this as it's really stressing me out! I use an Audiofire2 soundcard with Ableton ver 8.2, and have recently been building up a setup that includes some external synths and an external mixer (mackie sr24-4-vlzpro). Today I got to the stage where I wanted to...

Re: Detroit Techno on Ableton - Need your help/How to
909 shuffle is pretty basic. Don't make the mistake of so many dudes that get hung up on a particular piece of gear or recreating swing exactly or whatever. It's bullshit. Find out why the 909 shuffle is good, and then re-create it in ableton. http://www.goldbaby.co.nz/freestuff.html you guys are t...

Re: noisy neighbour
As others have stated, I would look on the brightside - the problem people like us normally have is receiving complaints!! In 15 years, I've only found one home that I can make noise in - all the others have involved full scale war with neighbours. Enjoy the freedom you have to play it loud, and try...

Re: Things you want to see explained/worked through in video?
Hi Tim, I bought your house music tutorial and really enjoyed it - it's been a great help. One of the things that I would like to see would be some kind of overview of traditional music theory, but in the context of electronic music production. I'm currently doing some reading on music theory, but t...

Strange Increase of BPM when add Analog Factory!!
Hello!
Every time I drag Analog Factory 2.5 into a midi channel, it increases the tempo of my project, by what i'm guessing is 15 - 20 bpm.
Now the worrying thing is the BPM counter remains as it was before I dragged in the Vst.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Simon.

Re: Mouse not working properly in Live
hmmm, that's interesting - when I tried to install the drivers that arrived in the cd, it told me not to bother as I had more up to date drivers already installed.
When you were experiencing the problem, was it just in Live or in all applications?

Mouse not working properly in Live
Hello Everyone, A strange one this.. I've just bought a Microsoft wireless mouse and the up/down roller button/dial doesn't work in Live 8.1.5..! Weird! I'm running a Vaio with Windows 7 and the mouse works fine outside of Live (MS Apps, Browsers, etc) Anyone experienced this before? Any ideas what ...

Re: Producing House Music with Ableton Live: Arrangement & FX
I've just watched the 2 generic Live introductory lessons and have to say i was very impressed. Much better than anything similar I've seen before.
I'll be watching the House tutorial in the coming weeks. Many thanks for posting this - it's just what I need right now!

Controlling VSTs in live with UC-33
Ok, slight live/vst newbie question here... I have a UC-33 that i would like to use to control the various settings on vst synths in real time. I'm new to the world of midi CC messages, etc and I can't find an obvious way to go about this..! Is it just that many free vst synths don't allow midi cont...

I guess it depends what you want to do as a dj. Some people are just dj's - they're not musicians or producers, and are happy just standing behind the decks playing other people's tunes one after the other for people to dance to, and nothing more. Maybe I shouldn't call myself a dj - I like to take...
