I'm really partial to the bus-powered because of the increased portability. Yes, the performance isn't as good and they are more expensive, but they're small, very portable, and I don't have to find an outlet to use them. Perhaps I'll run some benchmarks on the drive to see what kind of throughput I...

Live performance on USB hard drive?
I'm thinking of moving my Live library (or at least my sets and samples) to an external USB hard drive (USB 2.0 bus-powered 7200rpm 60gb laptop drive). I want to do this because I produce on both my laptop and my desktop computers, and I would like to easily move between the two computers to work on...

looking for MIDI software
Is there any software that could store a list of MIDI patches (by patches, I mean a group of specific CC changes and note on/off commands), and allow you to trigger a patch with a midi note? For example, if I hit A-3 on my keyboard, the MIDI program would associate that note with a patch that consis...

Just a reply to arpeggiocolour...you know you can cconfigure the sensitivity of the pads...take a look at the manual, there are actually two configurations for pad sensitivity in the MPD24...you can adjust the pad sensitivity and you can also modify the velocity response of the pads...very handy fo...

I'm not really an expert on the subject (haven't tried the Padkontrol or Triggerfinger), but I just got my MPD24 a few days ago and I love it! My only complaint is that the pads max out at 127 velocity without hitting them too hard, so yeah, it's not that easy to make beats with dynamic velocities. ...

PadKontrol pads same as Kontrol49 pads?
Are the pads on the Korg PadKontrol the same as those on the Korg Kontrol49? How do they compare in terms of sensitivity/expressiveness?
