I have synced Ableton to all three. MIDI out of my Novation controller to MIDI in on the Volca Beats (tried the other two as well). For everyone who read the Lowery article about the intern, here's a nice counterpoint.

warp a track you like and play it under your mix - then copy the arrangement from that.

that should help get a feel for arrangement.

i thought minimal was just a kick and hat for 10mins anyway with a couple of reverbed stabs thrown in at random?

what really grinds my gears these days is the 'big' record labels instead of chucking out endless 'greatest hits' packages at xmas now seem to be taking an album that was released this year, banging some extra tracks or video on it and re-releasing it as the 'extreme' edition.

i never back anything up.

i like the danger of losing everything and then having to start again, i usually also bin all my .wavs and stuff which really annoys my record label.

the way i see it is, when it's finished - it's finished, i need never look at it again.
