I thought this only affected the laptop speakers? My understanding was that when using an external audio interface or the headphone jack, the latency went down to regular levels. on a second listen from sl1002 it seems to me bigstrings1 and bigstrings2 are closer to that sound even if he plays higher notes for very briefly

Isn't that referred to as the 'wild pitch' sound ? it's just an analogue synth string single note two oscillators isn't it ? that very well may be. makes sense to me. i don't have an analog but wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. probably with a bit of pitch and filter modulation via lfo yo...

I still have my s1000 as well. I hit ebay for some of those sounds on either floppy or cd but didnt find any.

Those sounds in the first link you posted are great. For cds i dont have a cd player for the s1000 but could use floppies.


I'll keep looking on ebay in the meantime. Unless you are selling

you have good points in there i totally agree on the level you play this string if i may call it that. sometimes you dont even here it during the song untill a certain point when its just wow unison sounds good for this. i dont have operator handy but will try it as soon as i am at it any other tips...

the tracks are from early to mid 90's the drums 808s and the synths are most likely m1s or dx7.

i'm sure i'm getting to that sound. i will post results when i do
