I do alot of step recording. Is there a way to use a MIDI CC to control the clips grid resolution - thus affecting note duration of incoming steps?

Hello I am using a reverb AU plug in, and for some reason its "favorites" and another setting are ALWAYS automated and its driving me nuts. How do u not have ANY setting automated?

1) I changed the meter from measure 9 (7/8) to 10 (4/4). It looks fine on the arrangement window, but when I go to edit midi in the clips view measure 9 is in 4/4. Why doesn't the clip window register the global time signature change?
