Re: Erosion without source sound
Did you already try setting Erosion track's input to Birdcall PostFX, and turning Birdcall track's fader all the way down?

Re: Recreating Reason's Alligator Filtered Gate Effect
I haven't messed with the Alligator thingy, but I love processing things with Thor, either just the filters, or even using the oscillators, too.

Re: How to record midi to audio
This thread hilights why I generally prefer MIDI I/O on external hardware over USB I/O. No fooling with drivers and general USB issues.

Re: Arpeggiator won't launch on off beat
As a workaround, you might insert a delay on the audio track, and play on the beat.

Re: Best keyboard controller? Using Cakewalk A300 right now.
Regarding keyboard controllers, I've got an M-audio Axiom and an Akai MPK49. Akai stuff generally just WORKS straight out of the box with Ableton thanks to the built in support, this is not always the case with M-audio stuff although this is a sweeping generalisation. I've found M-audio stuff is al...

Re: Mixed Track has different response depending on Volume
The car and stereo may be revealing some room modes, in other words it could be influenced by the acoustics in that environment. As for earbuds, they all color the sound in varying ways depending on the model. You might aim to tame the bottom end just enough to sound good in the car, yet still decen...

You can also pick up an SPL meter pretty cheap. That combined with either Ethan's test tones CD or the free Minirator applet will tell you exactly what's wrong.

Re: Vocoder and MIDI track volume help
The MIDI playback on your XiFi pertains to the card's internal wavetable, not sounds generated by your software. What happens if you turn up the volume with all your tracks muted? If you still get feedback, it's something outside of Ableton. Can you post your project, or at least just the tracks giv...

Re: Parametric EQ?
Don't know about others, but the Waves Linear Phase EQ delays the signal slightly, so not really something to use while mixing or in a live session.

Re: Mixed Track has different response depending on Volume
Well we perceive all music differently depending on loudness - look up Fletcher Munson Equal Loudness Contours. This may be exacerbated by your mixing. When you mix, do you check it at varying volumes?

Sounds like you just want it full wet, with no dry signal.

This is in contrast to EQ3, which alters the sound no matter how neutral or "precisely" you try an adjust it.3dot... wrote:a transparent eq... never heard about that concept..

The only way I'm aware of overriding the follow action is to relaunch the scene.

Re: Let's discuss Recording Techniques for Bass Guitar.
If you're cranking the bass on the onboard EQ, in most cases that is overkill. On my active basses (even live) I rarely need to adjust more than a quarter turn or so in either direction. Make your final EQ adjustments while mixing.
