i think they fell short of one-upping the Launchpad. it may be slightly easier to get around the sends and panning using the faders instead of the buttons on the LP, but i think they should've done away with the faders in favor of knobs with LED feedback. they could've kept the unit the same size ...

I've had a quick scan through the API using the API.Explorer (v neat, btw! :) ).

I've been trying to work out whether the API exposes the position of warp markers in a clip? I couldn't see anything, but wondered if anybody else has?

Also, I can't find a way to obtain a clips file location or ...

This could have some great possibilities!

I'd like to see this, and to be able to turn off or on a Follow Action from a keyboard shortcut or MIDI command. Those two together and I would definitely never leave Session View.
Of course it would be really cool if you could do clip based looping without having to turn warping on.

It sounds like there isn't much difference apart from doing things the other way round - the grid is now fixed and you're moving the music around. Although, that's kinda what was happening before, in essence...

How does the sound get manipulated on the timeline? Does it preserve ...

What happens if you pull in a track that was previously warped in an earlier version?

That's actually one of the best new features I've heard about so far! :)

On my scripts that plug in x bar loops, it bollock's up if the end of the loop is beyond the end of the track.

Imagine the situation... You're approaching the end of a track and are imminently going to run out of song. Ha ha ...

Bummer, was actually bobbing around online filling job applications out for the last couple of hours (and even checked that page earlier today!). The changedetection site didn't send me a notification, so it's presumably not quick enough... Might have to think of another way!

I mainly DJ with Live, so these are performance orientated recommendations. They are all fairly straightforward to include, but would improve it's usability no end and imho are long overdue.

Coloured Markers/Annotations on waveforms (save in the .als file). Even better if it's possible to jump to ...

A bit disappointed with this update. The focus seems to have been on 3 new instruments instead of usability. When you compare the amount of development basic UI/MIDI functionality would have required, you're left asking why havent they worked on these things??
