your backpack/travel tools - how you protect ur stuff
Hello,
for those who travel
with laptop/ipad and a small keyboard (mpk mini for example),
what do you use for your keyboard/controller to protect the keys and knobs from getting smucked
with various pushing and pulling of a bag to a trunk, overhead storage, etc.
and if you stick it in a bag that ...

Does 7 beta have user determinable path for EIC?
Well we're up to 6.10 on LIVE with 7 in beta
anyone know if in 7 you can set your own path for EIC or any other packs you want to add and not have on your main (laptop) drive?

extra location beyond the Library to store/access samples
This has been discussed before, and i was hoping 6.0.5 would provide this: alternate locations (apart from the main library) to store samples etc. 6.0.5 doesn't seem to have come to the rescue.

Computer Music Special HELP: problems with tutorial plugins
In the first tutorial of the computer music special issue, the article says download MDA stereo and download SSL LMC-1.
First, MDA stereo is only available as a vst plug-in. Ok, i put this file into the VST folder in /Library/Audio/Plugins/VST (this is mac osx 10.4.8), restart live, make sure vst ...

Getting the Solid State Logic LMC-1 Plug-In to show up?
Have downloaded and run the installer for SSL LMC-1 plug in.
The installer placed the SSL LMC-1.component in the /Library/Audio/Components folder.
However, when launching Live, the plugin doesn't seem to show up in the plugins list.

speed
Yes, i think so too. but what i'm hoping is that someone with actual knowledge of whether or not such a set up is optimal will chime in.DJ VAKIS wrote:I think 5.400rpm for reading is ok.
I'd like to hear some clear rationale as to why 5400 or 7200 is most appropriate.
thanks again

how fast should external drive be to work with Live?
So there is one hack to get your EIC off your local hard disk and onto an external drive along with all those other huge sample libraries (http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52383)
but how FAST does the external hard drive actually need to be? Assumining you have a usb2 or firewire ...

EIC to user - determined directory
Amaury has kindly shown me how to get around this problem for now, so I'm gonna link the topic so that there are instructions for anyone who needs EIC installed seperate to the Live Library. In the future there will probably be an install dir option but this should do the trick for now. And at ...
