Change the name of plugins in Live 9?
This is a pretty basic question that I haven't even considered until recently when I got some new plugs that weren't intuitively named. I apologize if this topic is already on the forum somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I have all my .dll files in my plugin folder, and I was wondering if there was ...

After recording to picture, bounced file is out of sync..
Hey all, I'm having trouble with a video I'm trying to put score to. In the session everything is synced up perfectly, but when I bounce it (and import it into a brand new session to test it), the file is ever so slightly out of sync. Not by much, but enough to notice timing issues. All the audio ha...

Re: Take notes from Bitwig
There are many people satisfied also, you cant make all people happy. A lot of people, and users of others DAWs too, praise Live GUI. Of course that aesthetics are important, and Ableton people know that very well... I realize many people like the simple GUI as well, that's why I said before they s...

Re: Take notes from Bitwig
thats why i extracted carls quote to that other thread, i was like WTF! they just blew right by the only message from Ab there has been That's because the message didn't say anything other than a roundabout way of telling us there is still no info about Live 9. What's so interesting about sharing t...

Couldn't agree more.shadx312 wrote: Is it difficult to conceive that this doesn't have to be about win/lose? Things fluctuate. Let Bitwig have it's limelight and make a few bucks, then daddy can come back with some more tricks up his sleeves.
This is good for all of us.

Re: Take notes from Bitwig
• An aesthetically pleasing GUI Its a Joke? 1- Ableton Live is the DAW with the nicest and more functional GUI, there's good taste in the design, and I love the minimal philosophy behind it. 2- Bitwig looks like Live, maybe some changes so it doesnt look like a complete rip-off And, besides that, s...

Re: Take notes from Bitwig
leipies gets the only response from Ableton to any of these "Live 9 its about time" threads that i've seen on this forum and all he has to say about it boils down to: https://encrypted-tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRMYMN8Ncxn4Fz4mCRoJsPK1Id5jqX7fq7TblYg2VzLJu3x2t2r Maybe that's becau...

Re: Take notes from Bitwig
And you know nothing about Live 8? 9 will have ALL the futures of 8, and most likely some new stuf too. In other words, you know a shit load more about Live 9 then Bitwig, if you open your eyes. At least 90%. Its been coded, bug fixed and polished for 8 versions. If you go back and reread my initia...

Is it now. And what do you know about that other then a few pictures and a few lines of promo text? You dont know jack shit about it before it is relleased to the public. Any new daw will say it is going to be fantastic. My guess is a tonn of bugs and loads of missing futures. I know a lot more abo...

Re: Take notes from Bitwig
overhauling an existing 8 year old system is always harder than writing things from scratch. legacy code, code which is core to the system which people don't understand 100% as the programmer has left, technological limitations that no longer exist - addressing all of these and not completely break...

Re: Take notes from Bitwig
I really just can't get over the fact that Bitwig built an entire DAW from scratch in the time it took Ableton to make a version update, and it is full of features people have been begging Ableton to implement.

Global Arrange Matrix
I guess the best way to describe what I'm talking about would be to call it a 'Global Arrange Matrix'. Say you build a loop with the session view, you have a bunch of samples or whatever assigned to some MIDI triggers, and you build this cool loop and you record it to the arrange view. Then you can,...

Re: THE NEW BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9!!!!
sounds interesting... if a little complicated... I'm still trying to follow exactly what you mean! ;-) But I'm definitely down with the idea of something like a global record matrix - I imagine it more like Reason's blocks. Have you seen Reason 5/6s "blocks" in action? I would love to see...

Re: THE NEW BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9!!!!
okay, I am not sure I understand. At the moment locators are quantized, meaning that if you trigger one, it will only come in on the bar if the global quantise is set to 1 bar or more. So if you set up a track in the arranger, set the input to "resample", then trigger the clip as you trig...
