after a 1 bar count-in I insert data via a midi controller and stop in the end of the last bar. I did it both
with overdub and normal modes, but after I hit stop recording and check the data in ...

Re: Right Book or Tutorial wanted
Thanks guys, but I'm just realizing that there's a lack of tutorials aimed to musicians . Probably because Live is known to be the DJ's software and most of the tuts are target to create electronic DJ type music .
So folks who make electronic music aren't musicians?
Live and all the instruments ...

Thanks guys, but I'm just realizing that there's a lack of tutorials aimed to musicians. Probably because Live is known to be the DJ's software and most of the tuts are target to create electronic DJ type music. Of course we can make analogies and extract the info in order to apply it to whatever we ...

Right Book or Tutorial wanted
Hi. I basically use Live to program drum loops with some bass lines in order to create 2 or 4 bar loops that I use as a backing track to play guitar over it. I do understand the basics of Live, but I get confused or undecided about which way to go, eg: should I use Simpler or Impulse or a Drum Rack ...

Re: Global quantization and the Looper
Yes, in Live Global is set to 1 bar and in the Looper it's set to Global
Actually I'm not convinced I really need to use a Looper ( I'm using it as a guitar looper pedal ), since I can loop things just with Live itself, recording different bars in their own clip slots and then using follow actions ...

Global quantization and the Looper

quantization of 1 bar (eg. play 1 bar before the real thing), but
it doesn't work ... any tips? Regards, Ken.

Re: Is Ableton Live the right tool for me?
... no program is the be all and end all of all DAWs ...
Yes that's right. I think if you feel confortable with the sw, enjoy using it
and if the sw don't block your creativeness, then you're actually using
the right one. (Despite what someone says)
I'll stick with Live 'cause I see great ...

Is Ableton Live the right tool for me?
Hi. Looks like a silly question (maybe it is, but...) ... well, I'm a guitar player
and I need a sw where I can build backing tracks so I can practice over them.
Most musicians use sw that uses the tradicional 'Arrangement View Mode', but
after testing Live for a while I think the Session View Mode ...
