Make sure the "Enable Only While Recording" option is checked in the metronome dropdown menu. If that's not checked, the metronome sounds when recording AND when playing back.
Hope this helps.

Re: Inner/Robotic Type Voice Effect??
Ken Nordine was a master of the inner voice, although it's not really "robotic". Listen to "Think a Thought" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-cJxIoTfcs It's basically a band-limited, almost telephone voice with the lows and highs filtered out. If that's what you're going for, tr...

Re: Bking up Patches from external synth
You don't say whether you're on a Mac or PC. In either case, if you just want to back up and be able to restore the patches (that is, not edit them outside the synth), any sysex librarian type of program should do. On my Mac, I use Snoize's SysEx Librarian to back up patches on everything from my No...

Re: Ableton Electric Keys Get Louder With Repeated Notes
Sounds like you have a sustain pedal plugged into your controller and it's either stuck "on" or set to the wrong polarity. That instrument will give exactly the behavior you describe when a properly configured sustain pedal pressed (or the corresponding MIDI control message is sent.) If yo...

Re: Very very basic Sound issue
Make sure you have the metronome turned on. It's the button just to the right of the time signature button, the one with two circles, one empty and one filled in. See section 16.4 (Recording in Sync) in the Live 10 manual. https://cdn-resources.ableton.com/80bA26cPQ1hEJDFjpUKntxfqdmG3ZykO/static/ima...

Re: MIDI Controller plays wrong note
According to the manual you can find on the internet (do a search for "i2-control 61 keyboard manual"), that keyboard has a transpose function that would produce exactly the problem you're seeing. It says: With the # and b keys you can increase or decrease the notes by halftones. If you wa...

Re: Ableton! The GUI lags are still NOT SOLVED! How long are we supposed to wait for the fix?
I don't know why I'm taking an interest in this, but I've tried a few things. There's something weird about the snare sound in the drum rack in track 2. Delete that snare from the chain (don't just mute it, delete the Snare chain from the rack) and the lag is gone. I went further. I deleted all audi...

Re: Ableton! The GUI lags are still NOT SOLVED! How long are we supposed to wait for the fix?
OK, here is the debug project, guys: I would be grateful if you could record it on video so that we can see how much variability this issue has. Sorry, I couldn't record a video, but I did try your project on my system and I DID see the problem when arrangement recording. That would be super frustr...

Re: The chance of zero latency
Fun fact: if you play a synth (or any instrument) through an amp and are 10 feet away from the speaker, you've got almost 9 ms of latency between the time you hit a key and when you hear the sound, just due to the speed of sound in air. (Plus or minus depending on air temperature, altitude, etc.) --...

Re: drone /ambientquestion?
I feel compelled to mention Angstrom's technique of using insert effects with Ableton's looper to generate beautiful drones with slowly varying pulsations. It takes a little work to get it set up, but the results are golden. He gives step by step instructions and a demo video on his website. https:/...

Re: My Best/Worst Purchases
Best: - U-He Diva: I can't seem to get a bad sound out of it, so inspiring. - U-He Zebra: I don't care for the UI, but it's SO versatile and can sound great (and is less CPU hungry than Diva.) - Arturia KeyStep: The keyboard I grab most often for quick sessions with both software and hardware synths...

Re: Midi Workflow
There is a cool thing you can do: Just drag the midi window to full size. To exit just use SHIFT + TAB. That way you can simply double click any midi or audio clip, edit in full size and won't have to drag the window small again. For me that was a lifesaver when I found that shortcut. I always wond...
