You don't need an extra footpedal. Can do it all with the axiom.

I do live looping using just the axiom as a controller

Use midi mapping ( ctrl M on pc or command M on mac) to assign the clip or track launch ( play/stop) button to the axiom pad.

Another way is via the Ultralite - assuming your main mix goes out of outputs 1 & 2, send Abletons headphones outputs to outputs 3 & 4 ( you'll have to enable them in Live in/out preferences first to be able to select them as outputs on Abletons mixer) Then take a patch lead out of the Ultra...

Can you select Axiom as a control surface in the midi sync preferences? If so, does Live respond to incoming signals from the Axiom? ( yellow square lights up top right near the cpu meter)

The point about the audio interface was that the Axiom is just for midi in/out, not audio -gwest had asked about selecting the Axiom for audio in/out. Axiom should be selected as a midi interface, but a separate audio interface would need to be selected for his audio. Not sure why the Axiom doesn't ...

I've been having similar issues trying to sync 2 laptops running live.

They start in sync, but drift out - sometimes suddenly over 1 bar despite having run together for over 100 bars.

Both were set to midi clock. We did try MTC just to see if it worked better, but no difference. Midi clock is what we need for bpm sync.
