Re: MIDI: Playback in the middle of a note, and better step input
This is the one thing I miss the most after changing from Cubase to Live, I hope Ableton is implementing this anytime soon.

Akai MPD18
Hello :) I'm looking for a pad controller. I only need the pads and nothing else. I've looked at the Akai MPD18 and seems to be excatctly what I'm looking for. Anyone had any experience with this one? I've read a couple of threads in different forums, people complaining about the pads not being very...

Arm Exclusive and NI Maschine
I'm trying to map some arm buttons with my NI Maschine using the 8 buttons on top of the controller. I have them set to Type = Control Change, Mode = Gate. For some reason, NI Maschine seems to ignore the Arm Exclusive preference in Ableton, so when I arm channel 1 and then arm channel 2, channel 1 ...

Re: Dynamically change "MIDI To"
What I ended up doing, was to make a separate midi track for each instrument, set monitoring to in on all of them, and set all of them to recieve from my Chord midi track and then set MIDI to to each instrument. I then map'ed each chord to its own pad on my maschine controller and it works perfectly...

Re: Dynamically change "MIDI To"
Hiya :) Thanks for the reply guys. I'll try to explain what I'm trying to do here. The thing is, I'm trying to make chord progressions a bit easier. I'm not so good at actually "playing" chords live on a keyboard, especially when it comes to advanced chords and stuff. So what I've come up ...

Dynamically change "MIDI To"
Hi!
Is it possible to have the "MIDI To" on a spesific midi track to dynamically change to the track that is currently armed? Say if I arm TRACK 2, TRACK 1 MIDI To will change to TRACK 2, and if I arm TRACK 3, TRACK 1 MIDI To will change to TRACK 3 etc etc...

Launchpad and arm/select track
Hi!
When you arm a track with launchpad, is it possible to also make the track selected? This seems like default behavior in ableton if you click on an arm button, the track will be selected too, but the launchpad behaves differently, it only arms the track without selecting it.

Re: Trigger maschine scenes with ableton
I desided to just drag and drop, its ok. The nice thing with triggering scenes, is that then I have one place for all my drum patterns and If I do some editing in maschine it's reflected back to ableton throughout the whole arrangement. It's very practical that way. Maybe I've been too hang up on wo...

Re: Trigger maschine scenes with ableton
Hi again! Syncing with IAC Driver actually worked!!!! :D It now retriggers rock solid, every single time. But...........there is one more thing tho. Running it as a vst allowed me to route sounds from maschine to it's own audio track in ableton. Is it possible to do this, still in stand alone mode? ...

Re: Trigger maschine scenes with ableton
Hi Invol,
I have never tried syncing anything over IAC, I'm new to that protocol , but I will defenitely try this out. I'll keep you posted.

Trigger maschine scenes with ableton
Hello :) This problem might be isolated to the NI maschine itself, but here goes, I'm running NI Maschine as a vst plugin inside ableton and I trigger scenes in maschine via program change on midi clips in ableton. It works, but not the way I was hoping it to work. The problem I have is that when I ...

Compare EQ settings
Hello :) I'm wondering if there is an easy way to compare eq settings in Ableton Live 8. Say I want to compare the EQ8 settings on Channel1 with the EQ8 settings in Channel2. I can of course just copy and paste, but I was hoping it would be possible to maybe view them at the same time in some way. A...

Re: Samplerate and bitdepth
If you set Ableton to run at 24bit and you run files other than 24bit, the computer will have to convert the files to 24bit in real time. This is not a lot, but it all adds up. Its better to have them ALL at 24bit before you start. Thanks for the advice. I also asked Vengeance by mail about their o...

Samplerate and bitdepth
Hi! This might be a dumb question, but here goes :) I use a lot of the Vengeance samples, and they are all pretty much recorded in 44.1K / 16bit. Since I've configured Ableton to record and export in 48K / 24bit, do I have to consider converting the vengeance samples to the same format, does i make ...
