Re: Live has made a very serious error
Solved. The render was different from playback because when exporting, Live is triggering a midi note on an un-muted track that is just one long sample from measure 1 and is NOT audible when I play the set from the songs' start time. So the song is rendering as if that track is starting from measure...

Re: Crackles when select track.
Back in the day it used to be beneficial to remove any stop buttons from clip slots that do not need them. Not sure if this is still the case, but worth a shot.

Re: Live has made a very serious error
OK, I think I've figured out what's happening. Live is mad at me, jealous, because this was to be my last track, after 12 years, editing and mixing in Live before I move that task to Studio One while I just use Live for recording. I've been ungrateful and pissy with Live lately and she's now remindi...

Re: Live has made a very serious error
Well it did it again, BTA light was not lit, it seems to be only this single automation envelope that is not printing. The set sounds correct and the render is wrong.
Confounding!
Odd thing is the timestamp of the modified .als is now 3:04 where last night it was 3:07. Apple!

Re: Live has made a very serious error
One thing to realize is that you need to use "Back to Arrangement" in order for the export to be based on the Arrangement only. It's possible to mix Session with Arrangement. This could be a source for creating this discrepancy you're having. Another more likely source, is that you mixed ...

Re: Live has made a very serious error
This is surely the worst thing I've ever seen Live do Really? Overreacting much? It's obviously your duty to listen to the renders to make sure they're fine. Considering how complex today's projects can get with 3rd party VSTs, hardware and automation such things can and will happen, in any DAW not...

Solved: Live has made a very serious error
All things relative. I took a week off from final mixing my album, ready to master the tracks. I took one last listen playing renders in Quicktime and noticed a mistake that I thought I had fixed. Playing back my Live set showed the mistake WAS fixed (an automated envelope on Utility gain). Just to ...

Re: Live 9 with Mac OS X FileVault2 disk encryption?
Yes, makes sense to not use on a live performance machine. Do you know what caused the kernel panics? In 12 years of using Macs I've never had one. The thought of it makes my kernel panic.

Any experiences with Live + encrypted disc or thoughts about the importance of encryption?

Re: matching levels across an album
So in mastering you set the maximum volume of your loudest/most intense track by - as Tarekith said - adjusting how much final limiting you apply to that track. This defines the overall peak perceived volume of your album. In other words this is where you put a stake in the ground and say "thi...

Re: matching levels across an album
So you are using the threshold level as your volume adjustment? And that is not problematic in regards to overly-squashing some of the peaks?

matching levels across an album
When readying tracks for distribution and printing what is the best way to raise or lower the final render so that perceived volume of all tracks are balanced? At the moment I am using Ozone 7 standalone, but also have Studio One 3 available. I want to set a ceiling of -.7dB and dither and be done. ...

Re: Audio glitches on Macbook pro 2015 i7, 16 gb ram..
I bought the same computer you have (mine had the highest ghz i7 they had available) and at 64 sample buffer it would not run Omni and Komplete without pops and crackles. My 2011 MBP was able to run the set without a glitch. I sold the 2015 and bought a 2014, top of the line. It runs my set perfectl...

Re: Studio One
Yes, good to remember to start new recordings in the new DAW! Old habits die hard sometimes. The only reason I would need Live at this point is for the Looper. Not sure if there is anything better as a VST for mac, recent searches did not look too promising. I don't know how you interface with your ...
