Re: motorized faders with ableton
Just the Presonus Faderport, And this one moves with mouse action? I know it's important how you set up in preferences, with remote and all. I can confirm it doesn't, at least not consistently. If I click on a track with the mouse it generally follows interns of the motorised fader moving to the Ab...

Re: New authorization method
Before I replaced my laptop I had 5 or 6 times in a year that I had to rebuild (and contact Ableton for another auth code). I found them very fast and friendly, not much of an issue. That said, they never questioned my need for another auth code so if I'd been unscrupulous I'm sure I could have farm...

Re: Bizarre Cue Behaviour
Thanks for the reply mate. I had a look through the config utility and nothing was there. You can set the output in control panel > sounds & audio to 1/2 and play a track in media player and it comes out of just 1/2. Changing the output in control panel to 3/4 it then only comes out of 3/4 so it...

Bizarre Cue Behaviour
Hi guys, I'm posting on behalf of a mate of mine who is seeing some very strange behaviour that I can't resolve. He's using a PC laptop with Live 8.0.3. His audio interface is an Echo Indigo DJ (the same as mine) with Asio driver and channels 1/2 and 3/4 set in the output config under audio preferen...

Re: RIP: Michael Jackson ?!?
KK what skills did MJ bring to the table when making tunes? he sings and writes lyrics, did he have anything else to offer? I don't think I've ever seen him play an instrument or talk nuts and bolts about music. strange, usually when great people in the music world die I kinda wig out, with this on...

Re: Warping mp3 vs. wav files
No problem here moving MP3 between different systems however I converted everything to WAV since you get audio dropouts when playing live if the MP3 is not in the decoding cache - highly annoying. I converted everything to WAV which was a major pain since I had to re-warp more than a thousand tracks...

Re: Is this how most of you use EQ when DJing w/ Live?
I actually route my audio tracks into 2 return tracks which go to 2 channels on the mixer and use the mixer for eq rather than EQ3. That said, the mix you described would work for some tracks but not for others. A set would sound pretty boring if you only mix in one way. Your best bet is to play aro...

Re: New Warping
Unfortunately I'm feeling the same way. I've been trying for the last week with the demo and watched the tutorial several times but having warped several thousand tracks the old way I'm just not getting the new method. I'm starting to feel like this is a deal breaker for me upgrading as it's frustra...

Re: EQ 3 problems
If I'm understanding correctly, you have 3 tracks assigned to A on the crossfader and 3 assigned to B You can change the output of each track to 'Sends Only' (instead of Master) and route the 3 tracks assigned to A to Send A by turning the Send A rotary on each of these tracks to max. Repeat this pr...

I use the DJ2 and LV2, no rocket science to it. Just hit the MIDI assign button and start assigning whichever controls you use.

Re: Mixed In Key
Dan, it doesn't show on that screenshot but when I put the tracks into the key folders, I create a shortcut and that goes in a folder called A-Z Shortcuts. In fact, if you loop in the tools folder you can see the similarly named shortcut folder for tools. I have the first browser set up for the key ...

Re: Mixed In Key
Every track I have gets converted to WAV then goes through mixed in key and is renamed with the key at the end ie: Steve Bug - Trees Cant Dance (Original Mix) - 2A I then warp it and it goes into its own key folder. That way it's easy to select a track that works key wise and because the key is in t...
