That works but I don't understand why the notes on the TF and drum rack don't match. I need a D1 on the TF to fire a C#1 in the drum rack.

I don't own one yet but I do need a one-fader solution as I always mix in PT. I'll be getting one soon together with a nocturn for controlling plugins.

But, if you add substantial features, why not making it shareware with a donation option? You're doing some nice work on this issue.

Peace.

Thanks man. I use PT and Live 50-50 so your workaround to make the faderport usable in Live is what I was looking for. The alphatrack fader sucks and I'm used to P&G and Alps faders like the quality one on the faderport.

Great work you've done.

Hey rhythminmind,

I posted the same question in the Presonus forum. Does the off button to disable the motorized fader work with your patch? I'm asking this since I don't own a faderport and it would be nice not to hear the fader moving all the time.

Thanks 8)

Oh yeah, I did. You can download the DaD Valve demo and see (ear) for yourself.

I always end up using DaD Valve which is much better sounding than Saturator. Saturator = digital grainy-sounding, which I suppose could be cool but I don't think that's what it was intended for. So, +1 on a new plug that can actually sound tubey. They've done such a nice job with the new compressor...

Wow. Maybe this thread is going out of hand? 8O Anyway, I wanted to post one more time to report on further testing I have done. I bounced a stereo loop from a library in PT and Live (warp engine off). Result, no sound difference. Another test was applying the same plugin (UAD-1 Cambridge EQ) with s...

There may be different pan law values among DAWs and that alone accounts for slight differences. Indeed, differences are subtle and untrained ears may not detect them. I don't really care for those articles as most magazines are driven by advertisment so they'll say everything is amazing. Instead, I...

No way man. I think you need to get a bit of experience on a few DAWs and check the results. I didn't come up with my statement out of sheer vanity. And there's no need to be offensive. We strive to be civil here, or at least that's what I do. The 'HD interface' also known as the 192, isn't amazing ...

Tools....
Nah, it's just a fact of life that some DAWs have better audio engines than others. I am asking for better tools, not just tools.

Yes, iTunes has audio enhancer off. I can even burn a CD, stick it in the CD player, and it sounds different.

IMO, most of the plugins are dangerous to use as I can hear sound degradation, but I really like the UAD-1 plugs because what comes in truly comes out and it's not degraded. A 909 kick through a uad 1176 will be punchier and clearer than most compressor plugs around. So, my first question is how man...

Better Audio Engine

I can't tell you the surprise when, after working on the arrangement of a song, I move the project to PT for mixing. Everything sounds brighter and the stereo image is even wider in PT. Same story happens if I bounce to disk in Live and then playback the rendered stereo file on iTunes. I am coming t...

The motormix is simply the best. It's small but so packed with features. I regularly work in PT and Live. The motormix works great in PT but I never purchased it because that meant having another control surface for Live. I know there's plenty of PT-Live users who would love to be able to use one co...

+1

The Alphatrack is a truly useful product in the stuodio. Having the physical 100mm fader makes a big difference. I know you are listening, grant me this wish please. :D
