mystery glitches?!
Hi again folks. Techincal issue here. I have what sounds like intense clipping coming out with my audio. It's only when I try to use my MOTU audio interface's phones out, or if I try to use my laptops built in output. My audio interface's mains out works just fine. In ableton, the CPU meter in the t...

ways to make Ableton easier, more portable, to use???
Hi folks. So I'm just experimenting with some Ableton setups. I don't know if this is the case for you, but I like to mix and match equipment and move my gear around all the damn time, for ergonomics and feng shui and necessity and whatnot. That makes running Ableton a bit tedious at times. Little t...

Re: APC40 not MIDI mapping to a third party synth?
hey, once again, thanks for the help. The first suggestion about the configure button seems like it would get tedious to work with, as my soft synth has a lot of parameters I'd like to toy with. So I'm wondering what kinds of max devices could do this? I'm not real keen on the world of max, so would...

APC40 not MIDI mapping to a third party synth?
Hi folks. I'm using KV331's Synthmaster plugin within LIve 9. I can "MIDI learn" my keyboard's controls to the knobs within synthmaster, but I can't MIDI learn anything on my APC40 to anything within synthmaster. Yet the APC40 DOES MIDI map to any native parameters within ableton itself. I...

Applause sensor???
Hey folks. totally not an ableton question. :) just sound tech related, so I thought I'd run it by you all. had an idea that won't leave my brain: I want to setup a little sensor of some kind by my front door. I wanted it to trigger the sound of applause whenever someone walked in the front door, li...

How to run instruments through Ableton effectively???
Hi folks. I'm trying to run an electric bass and/or an acoustic guitar through ableton, so I can tweak them with ableton's FX and use its looper with them. It's really a noisy affair though. And the tone is weak and muddy. My setup: active electric bass ---> radial DI ---> MOTU ultralite audio inter...

how to slice a MIDI clip at the start of a note
Hi folks! quick and easy question probably for many of you. Just like the title says: I have a recorded MIDI clip that I want to slice up (CMD+E) and rearrange. I want to some hotkey or whatever that allows me to quickly and cleanly cut the clip right at the start of a given note, without having to ...

Re: PA speakers buzzing when paired?
okay, gotcha. thanks. do you think it would ground my laptop if I plugged its UNgrounded charger into a grounded powerboard, or do I need the 3 pin charger?

Re: PA speakers buzzing when paired?
Fishmonkey, thank you very much once again. Just a quick clarifier on what u just said tho: by "run your laptop using the mains with a grounded plug?" Are you saying plug my laptop charger into my surge protector, which has a grounded plug, along with all my other gear?

PA speakers buzzing when paired?
Hey folks. Title says it: when I test the sound with just one PA speaker, there is very little buzz coming out of it. But as soon as I plug in the cord to my output 2 for my second speaker, I get a loud, obnoxious buzz. The buzz continues then whenever both speakers are plugged in. It doesn't matter...

Setting up global effects in drum racks
Hi everybody! I was curious if anyone knew I way I could do this: setup a drum rack where one 16 cell block of samples is routed to go through an effect chain, while another 16 cell block of samples on the same drum rack is routed to through a different effect chain. I found it tedious and excessive...

Re: Push remote script for 4 drum pads?
I'm glad you folks feel similarly. I don't ever use the polyphonic step sequencer. the 20 buck PXT thing I just got is cool, but since you have to go over to user mode to use it, but a lot of times it's just too much when it comes to the simple, readily available playability that Push is supposed to...
