Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
OK here is my Space Cave mk4 from late last year. Yes, I love my hardware synths! Yes, those are a pair of big RGB 1.4W full colour analogue modulated lasers in the corners. Out of the shot is my DJ rig (pair of 1200s, Traktor Z2/S4/X1/F1) I'm assembling the new Space Cave mk5 at the moment which o...

Re: Having latency only on one project?! how come?
If you're getting noticably higher latency with a specific project then most likely there is one plugin in use somewhere in the project which requires a higher than normal buffer size to work its magic. Typical culprits: convolution based DSP (with the exception of NI's Reflektor reverb within Guita...

Changing default input for new MIDI track from "All Inputs"?
Hi Ableton Heads, Long time no post! I've been busy integrating a large array of elderly hardware synths back into my studio rig and having a blast enjoying sequencing them from Live 8.3.3. I've also integrated a Innerclock systems Sync Gen (goodbye MIDI clock problems for good!) which has resulted ...

Re: Want to improve my beat programming...
I sometime record myslef tapping a rhythm on desk/bongos etc.. then extract the groove and apply to my written beats. Gives a nice real-feel ... Absolutely! This works a treat. Groove quantising is the key. Live suddenly became as attractive for me as Cubase once facility was added for Groove Quant...

Re: OT: The apocalypse is come to Sydney?
Wow - The images are truly spectacular. Reminds me so much of my favourite Mars SciFi flicks. Feeling sorry for those having to breathe that atmosphere and for those with unsealed studios. We didn't get any of that dust storm down here in metro-Melbourne. Thankfully ... There was an tremor in Melbou...

Bug L805 on WinXP32SP3: Text search for Live Plugs = freeze
Hi Live 805er's, Here is a bug I have 100% repro with in all versions of Live 8. I encountered this primarily because I always prefer to let the computer do the hard work of finding plugins for me by text searches rather than navigating my large VST plugin tree structure (it is large and all legit c...

Re: It is really cool to get back to real synths.
It is realy cool to get bac to real synths? Who cares what's cool. Just do feels right for you ... ;) I just packed up my old hardware synths (Kawai K5000s, Yamaha AN1-X, Korg Z1, Korg Prophecy, Korg DW8000, Ensoniq FIZMO) since they were just taking too much space up in my studio and they rarely ge...

Re: High end i7 CPU vs. Dual Quad Core XEON
Hello, I'm curious if any of you have experience or can help me determine whether or not a dual Quad Core XEON will be a better option or a high end i7 machine with DDR3 RAM for using Live. I use a hell of a lot of CPU nowdays and really need as much juice as possible for Live. Any thought comments...

Personally I can't quite bring myself to do use library loops. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I just like to roll my own stuff from scratch.
