Default audio drivers won't work nonetheless. Try Asio4all.
Macbook Pro running Lion 10.7.4 and Ableton Suite 8.3.4.
Logic pro 9 doesn't have the same issue, strangely.

Bump - still having this after playing with buffer settings.
Thanks for the input though.

General latency issues

Been using the regular core audio drivers for my MB pro running Suite 8.3.4 and there is always a gap between me pressing the notes on the keyboard / midi keyboard and the audio actually coming out. Activity on the volume fader always shows up about half of a second - 1 second before the sound comes...

Re: education license

Website says one to two days. Ok cheers. What the fuck has just happened though? I just tried to authorize suite 8 when I opened it up, but forgot that I hadn't verified my educational status yet, but I still clicked authorize online and for some reason Ableton authorized live 8 Lite because it obv...

naw, I actually meant that other DAW's depend on the user but with Ableton, it seems like even if you are experienced you can still experience drawbacks. The finished mix is going to sound better on Logic.

Re: Ableton & Logic sound (yes I know...)

with DAW comparison I leave the argument that usability is the main factor. some people click with a certain DAW, some don't. I couldn't get a good sound out of Reason but friends of mine could, the problem was me not Reason. it's 2012, people figured out how to record and playback audio many decad...

Re: Ableton & Logic sound (yes I know...)

I'm truly being sincere when I say this because it seems to me like for the majority of people producing, it should be a non issue, unless your production revolves strictly around using loops...? Obviously everyone uses the software differently, and I can see adverse affects if a) you are using a l...

Re: Ableton & Logic sound (yes I know...)

There's been discussion on why do people keep on bringing up this whole Live sound quality thing, and I think a large part of it IS that so much gets enabled by default. Warping, Fades, beats warp mode, not defaulting to high SR or plug in antialiasing, etc. I can certainly see now that all of thes...

Re: Ableton & Logic sound (yes I know...)

We're talking about transients here. (909 Kick) Turn off fades. The fade in Ableton is 4ms (AFAIK) Big difference. Fade kills initial transient / click / whatever....... Yeah this made a massive difference. Sounds indistinguishable from the Logic bounce now. Cheers! Also - is 48k not the correct se...

Ableton & Logic sound (yes I know...)

Hello, Not meaning to start a debate or DAW war, just wanting some straight answers because I'm experiencing a difference in sound by a fair margin. I've gotten used to Ableton, it's workflow, quick messing with audio, great sampler etc, but I'm consistently thinking it's not worth me carrying on an...

Massive sounds really odd on ableton

Hey guys Just a quick one. With FL studio massive opens normally and the tone of each note sounds spot on, yet in ableton when I open it up it sounds completely different. It's choppy and I have to mess around with the pitch alot and even then it can't produce the sounds I want. Any ideas why this w...
