The simpler, the better...as long as your gear is protected. If you can manage to eliminate the need for a case by consolidating gear into fewer cases, you will thank yourself in the long run. Unless you have roadies, you will want to keep it as streamlined as possible.

Im not sure if I explained this right, Im wanting some kind of a guide on what key to use for each type of element within a track if there is such a thing. As an example:

Bass Notes = -C2 to A2
Kick Drum = G2 to E3
Pads = E2 to E5

How will you be triggering your scenes, samples, etc? It may be worth getting a cheap usb powered midi keyboard for this purpose.
