They are better qua...

Re: being accused of not being a "real DJ" with Ableton

I teamed up with my friend and we played a 2 hour show filled with a mixture of our own tunes with tons of knob twiddling and button bashing and mixed with released tunes.... Girl came up to us and told us we sounded like Josh Wink... I didn't like that :( but she was hot so we let it fly D:

Interesting Sound Art

Hello,

I graduated last year in Sound Art & Design and was wondering if anyone could recommend any pieces of interesting sound art work that they have seen online?

I'm looking for some inspiration, losing it working full-time at the moment doing boring editing.

Thanks

Re: PLEASE....a CLOCK!

I hate to be a pain and +1 this again... I am a sound designer and foley editor, I would love to use Ableton for my film and tv projects. Due to having ProTools freak out after upgrading my operating system and thus not starting up I had to use Ableton as it was the only other DAW/audiovideo editor ...

Re: Mixing at -17dB is this bad?

Interesting, I've only got back to writing music and i have started doing this in the last couple weeks after seeing it on a website also. Do you have any examples of a mix before you adopted this method and a more recent mix?

at University a few of us made patches in MaxMSP, which would trigger midi instances using just the webcam of our macbooks. It was just reacting to changes in light.

sooo maybe check out maxmsp.
