Re: Windows WDM instead of ASIO for a audio interface?

Thats not Ableton at all, thats Reaper. Oh sorry, you are right. In Live I can see a MME/Direct X option in sound preferences. The best things I'm reading now is: http://www.staudio.de/kb/english/drivers/ , I'll try to look for specific of WDM / Bheringer drivers with Ableton. EDIT: it seems like A...

Re: Windows WDM instead of ASIO for a audio interface?

With ASIO I have the problem that it takes exclusive control of my sound card (so my audio monitors with it) and I have to keep switching between ASIO / WASPI if I want to listen to a tutorial on you tube or anything else while one of my software is controlling my audio interface. I see that there ...

Re: Windows WDM instead of ASIO for a audio interface?

Im not sure if Ableton even supports WDM or at least the low latency WDM with ks. Sonar was the only DAW I remembered that supported this. I had an Echo Layla 3g that had pretty good WDM drivers although that was awhile ago. Now it seems like either ASIO (PC) or Core Audio (Mac) are the drivers that...

Re: Help With Expression Pedal

My guess is that the Ableton 9 preset on the Advance might have the Expression on a different CC? You might want to change this on the preset and then save it. Alternatively you can set up the controller as an Ableton Remote Controller and then use it to map to any parameter on the Ableton GUI. Hard...

Re: How to change the pitch of notes in ableton midi editor

I've set up a drum rack and I have 2 midi notes that I'm layering. In the Midi note editor the notes are right beside each other on the piano roll (exactly the way I want it) I want to transpose 1 row of my kicks up an octave but I don't know how to do that. I don't want to drag them up an Octave, ...

Re: Audio fuller/louder when routing out Battery and Omnisphere

I've noticed this for sometime and don't always do it as to keep things in order with other plug-ins that I don't route out from within the plug-in itself. so in Battery when clicking on a cell and routing out to st 3/4, st 5/6 etc, and letting the audio through to a audio track as opposed to playi...

Re: Need advice for best approach to creating my own acoustic drum loops for solo gig backing

This is my first post on the forums. One of my main uses for Ableton Live 10 is to use on a laptop to provide flexible backing tracks for solo gigs where I am playing guitar and singing. I mostly want to play along to drum loops; each song will have several beat variations (A section, B section etc...

Re: Ableton is lacking some basic concepts

Too many crashes has made me switch back to Cubase. It is just a superior program IMO. I love some things about Ableton, but it is more of a pain in the neck to get specific things done. It is clear that it has been more designed to work with Push, which is cool. But some basic functions such as no...

Re: Channel EQ or EQ8?

They have around the same CPU draw. Light in either case. Which do you think is a better channel strip eq for iso instrumentation tracks? Trying to assemble my default audio track. Admittedly 8 bands is likely overkill for carving out a good eq. But I have a pretty good group device that has most o...

Re: Is my latency good enough or should I try to get it lower?

I am currently testing out a bunch of combinations for my buffer size and sample rate. To make sure that I am getting a good gauge of whether I will hear breaks and crackles during a set, I am stacking midi clips in as many as four tracks and playing them simultaneously. The lowest I have been able...

Re: Best setup/configuration for multiple hardware synths/effects

Setup ----- 1 Poly synth 2 Bass/mono synths 1 Multi-FX processor Komplete Audio 6 The KA6 will accommodate the synths without any mods, however, the problem is the effects processor. I could use it in-line on one of the synths at a time but that seems very limiting. Ideally, I'd like to use I/O 3&4...

Its available in Push, but I'm guessing people are using M4L scripts to customize the launchpad.

Probably many ways to do this though.

Re: What Ableton IS KEEPING SECRET about Live's audio engine...

There's nothing wrong with Ableton's audio engine. Few people doing electronic music (which is what most Live users do) push the limits of the audio quality of any of the DAWs, even everyone's favorite whipping boys Fruity Loops and Reason. Now if you need to record classical music in a great sound...

Re: STILL NO COMPING?!

You can 100% do comping in Live. In fact its one of the best implementations of it I've ever used. Just loop a section in arrangement view. Then do as many takes as you want. When your done open up clip view. All your takes are there in order with loop brackets around each take. I actually like the...

Re: Question about moving transients

Hi! This is my first post here so forgive me if this is the wrong place or a dumb question. I'm pretty new to Ableton, last night I recorded and mixed a project on it for the first time. It was four songs comprising of just two acoustic guitars. Some parts needed to be quantized and I found it supe...
