Re: MPE Pitch Shifting Frustrations (Ableton 11)

I hope I am just being a noob and I'm not using the software properly. because right now my assumptions suggest that: MPE doesn't work with almost all popular third-party plugins. (Kontakt, Omnisphere, Nexus3, SubLab etc) It only works on Ableton's Simpler, Sampler and Wavetable. It can't shift any...

Re: Zero latency monitoring of microphone?

I have a microphone connected to my computer via a UMC204HD USB interface. Is it possible to listen to my voice in real time with reverb applied with ableton? I have tried and there is latency, I have tried to reduce the buffer settings but I can only get them down to about 25ms before the audio st...

Re: Should I Dither?

I produce music videos. I record my music in Ableton and then import the audio file into Davinci Resolve where the video is added. I will do an export of the song from Ableton, then open that file in Ableton, do my mastering, and then export again. I then import that into Resolve where it gets rend...

Re: The chance of zero latency

Is there any chance we will see a zero latency Ableton in our life times? I was hoping that Ableton would be the first to claim zero latency. No adjusting buffer sizes and turning off monitoring or spending excessive money on analog summing gear. Question should probably be will we ever reach a cha...

Re: Ableton Limiter and Compressor Tutorial for a Biginner

Easiest way would be to use limiter on Master bus. You would need to turn up gain to engage limiting. That said I'm not sure how effective this is, as it would squash your peakier tracks but I guess it would be faster than individually adjusting levels. I would consider adjusting each clip by clip l...

Appears to be a bug with Vocaloid 5 Editor with Ableton Live

I get an exception error message when loading an old project with Vocaloid 5 VST in it A popup says An unexpected error has occured. VOCALOID 5 Editor will close. Project fails to load. Trying to find a backup file now without Vocaloid to see if that loads. I believe this was loading fine on 11.0 I ...

You can also Freeze the Track, then (Ctrl+)drag the resulting frozen Clip into a Audio Track.

This is probably the closest functionality Ableton has to what was requested and is typically what I do to achieve processed audio effects.

Re: Calculating the latency of recorded live instruments

Hi everyone, This is kind of a newb question, but I really need someone to confirm this. How do you get the exact latency value when you record an instrument through an audio interface? For example, if I record a guitar, the printed audio clip will show a slight delay (no, it's not me being sloppy ...

Re: 10 Meter USB Cable for Midi and Audio Interface

Hi, is it okey for me to use 10 meter cable for Midi data and Audio Interface? Is there any problem I might encounter with this setup? Thank you for answering my question. God bless! I think usually it isn't recommended to use lengths over 6 feet. This probably depends more on device you are using ...

Re: A legal question about sampling a rap song (acapella)

Seriously? You're having to ask? You can't just take someone elses copyrighted work and do what you want with it. I know, I'm just wondering how strict it is since YouTube etc. has thousands of remixes like this. And since the original EP has an acapella track on it, I assume the artist would think...

Re: Ableton Stock Reverb Reduces Volume Level

Does anyone know why when I drop the stock reverb on a track that it significantly reduces the volume level? Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? I find by using Return tracks for Reverbs helps with this. This is pretty much effects in general though. Pretty much every effect will have som...

Re: New 2 Live: How Did You Learn?

I just got Live a couple weeks ago and I am struggling to find good instruction on how to learn the basics. I am doing a class on Linked-in and it's not what I was hoping. The instructor explains a lot of stuff, sure, but watching him work on his projects and executing various tasks doesn't really ...

Re: Vocal latency issue while recording

How is monitoring better in other DAWS? One way is other DAWs let you disable plugins to save on latency. While you can disable a plugin in Ableton and save on processing, the latency will still be processed. It's part of Lives performance paradigm. Same reason there's minimal hiccups/glitches when...

Or will I still have to use v8 compressor to get a clean side chain without clicks?
I found that RMS mode produces less pops.
