Re: Live 12 reference manual DISCONTINUED BOOOOOO

I am very disappointed that there will not be a PDF manual of Ableton Live 12. I'm new to Ableton, and I use the pdf manual to learn the program on my ereader while commuting to work. It can't be that hard to convert HTML to PDF? Or EPUB... Please reconsider! I agree the pdf is great when someone w...

Re: Live 12 reference manual DISCONTINUED BOOOOOO

I have to agree. It's nice to have a PDF manual open alongside DAW software (e.g. Reaper, Cubase). That way I can do DAW stuff while offline. Maybe there's a way to save the online manual away for offline use? Most pdf converters allow you to print a screen to pdf. Probably not fun to do though as ...

Re: Ableton arrangement window is a MESS

Thanks for replying - Sorry to differ but the midi editor does have warp markers. If you select an area warp markers appear. And yes changes to clips in either session view or the other way round dont transfer - you have to copy your clip across. Editing audio in session view is a pain cause you ha...

Re: Any VST to improve in Ableton ?

I'm not fussy about details, and I want to keep things simple by sticking to Ableton stuff. But one thing that makes a huge fast difference to the overall sound is plonking a Valhalla reverb on the master track (sorry if that's an audio sin). It makes a night and day difference compared to the Able...

Re: New Laptop, still too much latency

Thanks for all your answers – and I can confirm that following this advice I’ve managed to bring down the latency to a level that is playable. In the best setting, I can still tell there is a delay between the hardware module and the software but on it’s own, it’s not noticeable. My setup is fairly...

Re: Any VST to improve in Ableton ?

Although Ableton DAW and its VST´s are great, is there any effect or signal modulator (compressor, delay, reverb, distortion, etc.) that could be better and you would prefer to buy a third-party plugin? Regards I assume you are referring to Suite. Regarding Reverb, Delays. Ableton is pretty rock so...

Re: New Laptop, still too much latency

Hi Folks, I'm struggling with latency when I play a MIDI keyboard into an Ableton instrument (e.g. Piano). I've just bought a new Dell XPS laptop with an Intel Core i7 13th Generation processor, 14 threads. I hoped it would finally allow me to play instruments using my Roland MIDI Keyboard controll...

Re: SM58 Mic with Push 3 is super quiet

So I'm confused about "dynamic" microphones and the push that doesn't supply phantom power. I thought if I bought a Shure SM58 which is dynamic (meaning doesn't require phantom power?) it would work with the push on High pre-amp. But it's pretty much inaudible. When I use my Focusrite and...

Re: Do Return channels Return WET signal only or the Summ ?…..

Hey everyone. So i was wondering. If i send signal from a track to a return track (lets say with a reverb with 100% Wet setting on it) i get a Wet signal i can then blend in with my mix. However, my Question: Is the signal coming back, ONLY the WET signal of the plugin (as in DELTA) ? Or is it SIGN...

Re: Push 3 audio interface - Give us Direct monitoring - Roundtrip latency is bad

There must be some type of background overhead causing the latency. This shouldn't be an issue in anymore in 2023. I think the push 3 is trying to do too much. IMO latency has seemed to actually gotten worse over the years. Focusrite Scarletts were pretty decent but I think after an upgrade they ad...

Re: Push 3 audio interface - Give us Direct monitoring - Roundtrip latency is bad

Some people are way more sensitive to latency issues than others. For most people anything under 10ms is usually unnoticeable. I can't tell you the last time I used direct monitoring. It's been several years as one Rapper was very sensitive to small amounts of latency. This guy had superb timing by ...

Re: Instrument Definition Files...

Oh well. After digging through Max For Live, that also appears to be a dead end. I am really starting to regret my purchase of Ableton Live. If there is no way to define external hardware, the program is pretty much useless to anyone trying to use it as a full featured DAW. Perhaps that is not Able...

Re: Operator v2

Do you think Operator will ever be updated / upgraded? It's a very unique and powerful instrument, combining FM, additive and subtractive synthesis , but the GUI and workflow is outdated (IMO), to say the least. Looking at 10's Wavetable or the the upcoming 12's Meld & Roar, I can only imagine ...
