I've saved a preset for sampler in my Defaults\Dropping Samples\On Drum Rack folder, it's the default one you get when loading a blank sampler with minor tweaks added.
But now when i drop sample on the drum rack, i get somewhat ranom root keys that i have to edit manually to c3... annoying.

tap tempo doesn't cut it if you wanna do this post recording .
And i don't get what you mean mike, if i have my one bar loop (which doesn't fit the grid because the bpm is different), i can adjust the project's bpm all i want, the clip is not gonna fit a one bar space on the grid at some point...

There's one VERY simple thing i still can't figure out.

Let's say i'm jamming on a midi controller (pads or keyboard) ACAPELLA, i.e. the current set's bpm is totally unrelated to the performance, no loop playing in the background, and no metronome.

If I record something in midi and make a few 2/4 ...

hey i knew about that feature, but since the tempo got locked to the audio file's tempo i never used it.

But now i'm thinking of something :
Use a rack to remap all incoming notes to the same note, and use that to trigger a click ; now you can grab the midi groove file, make it play the click ...

I'm not gonna mention again how incredibly lame live is when it comes to groove quantizing (oops looks like i did :twisted: ) ; but since we can now import rex files and slice loops, all the groovy timing info you need is there at disposal in midi clips, it just isn't usable as is...

I haven't been ...

a couple of other questions about midi genrating vstis :

-does live still remaps all midi messages coming out of a vst to channel 1 ?
-can midi ccs generated by plugins be used to 'remote control' params in the midi learn mode ?

seriously with the second one, the abes wouldn't even have tother ...
