Re: Issue sending MIDI CC via envelope automation

Yeah I had this issue before and Ableton support never really managed to figure out what the problem was. They were able to reproduce it on one old machine with the difference that chaning the buffer size didn't affect the behaviour there. Changing the buffer did affect the problem for me. As far a...

Re: Issue sending MIDI CC via envelope automation

Cool, thanks man! The support was able to confirm that increasing the buffer size > 256 samples fixed the issue, but they don't seem to know for sure why for now. Yeah I had this issue before and Ableton support never really managed to figure out what the problem was. They were able to reproduce it...

Re: Which Version is This? It Has Collection Menu Bar

https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=227438 Yes there is some category at the top of the browser that seems to say "collections" and a button/dropdown to the right of that that says "no filter" that isn't there in L9. It also has a red colored item in the browser (I don't think anything is ...

Re: Midi - drums

If you want to play drumsamples up and down the whole keyboard (which isn't all that "obvious" at all), load a Simpler device into a midi track and use that instead of the Drum Rack. You can drag any audio file into the Simpler and it will play over the whole keyboard. Live is quite easy and intuiti...

Re: How do I use ableton with a Motu 828x and a Analog Mixer?

Not sure why it is you want to control your Motu with your mixer. Why not use the levels and eq's of your analog mixer? Otherwise, if whatever settings in the Motu you want to control are accessible through MIDI, you can use a midi controller. You can obviously also use a midi controller to control ...

I don't think you can do that. Live always has a project open.

Re: Live 10 around the corner?

well it has certainly be a long time since Live 9 released. The longest wait between Live versions ever in fact (over 4 years now). Of course in that time Live 9 has seen numerous upgrades and Push came along. But I'm of course interested as well to see what Live 10 would have in store. The competit...

Re: Reverb after compression on grouped tracks

just remember to set any effects in the return track to 100% wet signal. This ensures that you're not doubling up on the dry signal through your return track.

Re: How do I give the bass more punch and power?

Well if I listen to your example and your own sound, are you sure it's the bass that's lacking in power? Because I don't really feel like your little loop lacks bass so much, but it's hard to compare a simple loop to a fully mixed track. A lot of the power and energy of the example comes from the te...

Re: New production computer.

If you are going for a PC laptop, have a look at Thinkpad series. http://www3.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-p/P50s/p/22TP2WPP50S They often get overlooked as they are marketed as "business" laptops, but they are very solidly built en forego some of the flashyness of consumer laptops for...

Re: Beat Tools - New Pack for Suite and Push owners

I'm just always a bit puzzled about this whole "beatmaking", as if "beat" is a self-contained subgenre of music and they had to invent a special word for the making of it. Is there anyone just making beats? Like, no other instruments? Or when you're done "beatmaking" do you then start "bassmaking" a...

Re: Where can I find an online tutor for EDM production?

The Deadmau5 masterclass was ok, and of course there are many great masterclasses and tutorials but I think what the OP is looking for is a scheduled class- or lesson-with-actual-teacher to give him/her structure and a mental push to actually sit down and do work. I can totally understand, as I have...

Re: Vertical zoom of clips in Arrangement view, please

I think what he means is that in Ableton, clips in the timeline have a colored strip at the top and then the clip contents beneath that (if the track is expanded), which are not colored (transparent). No matter how high you make the tracks in the arrange view, that colored part of the clip doesn't g...
