Same problem here. Push2Display process around 10% on PC and 20% on MBP. Empty set in Ableton, no plugins running, no audio.

To do what you want, You can use Cubase. It has a really GOOD midi editor, with random pattern. You can add function, build your own "random" laws and pattern, ect...it works well. And there is more groove option. :) Suppose you have Cubase and Live, the simpliest way is to use Live in Rew...
