my encoders are shot too. still no response from akai, i emailed them last week. sweetwater is also "unaware of the problem."
if only the padKontrol had the knobs faders and LCD that the mpd has.
PS: the new firmware as of feb 2nd does not fix the problem either.
looks like this is a hardware ...

Firmware Upgrade
I just installed the 1.07 Firmware upgrade from akai (they released it today) and i still get the same problems with the encoders that everyone is discussing in the forums. I guess it might be a hardware problem after all???

I just noticed the same problem tonight. Its very discouraging. The thing worked perfectly until now. I've had it for almost a month now. Its the "K3" encoder if that helps. I've also noticed some weird behavior with the "K1" encoder as well. My question is if its possible to disable the encoders so ...
