Re: why is my final track volume so low??
Are you normalizing upon export? When building the song, what does your master volume look like while playing? Can't really help you further without a little more info...

Re: OT: Who hombrews weird shit?
I brewed a gruit sort of ale last year, but I tossed in an ounce of wormwood, and made it too bitter to enjoy. it would really mess you up though. It was 14%, and the psychoactive herbs do give it a different feel from typical beer. I also brewed a pale ale with henbane. It was good, but tasted eart...

Re: Post your beer and associated gut
Tonight it's a Belgian Wit that comes from my brewhouse/garage. Light crisp delicious. That one I brewed about 6 weeks ago. It's nearly gone. Sadly, I've been rather a pig about that one... drank most of it myself.

Re: Post your beer and associated gut
I brewed it about a month ago. It's in my beer fridge in the garage. It's not a bad system, I run it off a CO2 tank. Four, 5 gallon corny kegs fit in my fridge. I am willing to share when people visit Michigan...labrat51 wrote:where did he say that honey imperial was? i'm on the next flight over

Re: Post your beer and associated gut
Currently drinking my own Honey Imperial IPA. At 10% abv. and 126 IBUs, she packs quite a punch! Some advice for drinking beer: Always drink ale at cellar temperature, any colder and you'll quash many of the flavors. Drink from a glass, less bloating. When you pour into said glass, pour down the mid...

Re: Headphones Recommendations
Not within your specified price range, but if you don't mind dropping some coin for high quality, I found a demo set of Ultrasone Proline 750 for $250. New they cost $475. I my opinion, there's nothing out like them. Fantastic.

Purchased from iTunes. Listened to the first track over at Last.fm, that sold me! I really look forward to listening to the rest.

Re: Have you done your 10,000 hours?
I think this 10,000 hour rule has a grain of truth to it, but its not even vaguely the whole story - especially when applied to creative pursuits. 10,000 hours working on music will make you a more accomplished producer or composer, but it's not necessarily going to give you new ideas or inspiratio...

Re: did you go to music school or are you a solid producer?
One of the greatest things I learned at music school, (BA in Tuba performance) was discipline. You don't learn how to perform or to produce overnight. You have to do a little bit every day. Without that discipline, you'll only fart around and never get anything done. Set goals, work toward them and ...

OT: How often is music taught where you live?
With current economic times, school's around here (Michigan), are deciding what to cut. Inevitably, one of the first programs discussed is music. Recent research, however, suggests that music study helps brain development, so this means that schools are hurting student achievement by cutting music. ...
