Re: 8.2.5 Crashes more than ever... :(
Same here, 10.7.1 and 8.2.5; clean install; no VSTs/AUs; inbuilt audio and also RME FF400 (tried both under clean install) Live has never been all that stable for me under OSX or Windows but 8.2.5 has made it worse. The same old problem of Live crashing when loading certain samples or loading data s...

Re: Presets are .ksd files.
8O 8O 8O they require software instruments developed by native instruments, which can be run inside ableton live -- but I'm still hoping this post is a joke. Nope, sorry but I'm a noob  Hi footsy, Basically as mholloway said, they're presets that are loaded by VST applications created by Nati...

Re: OSX Spaces with Live VSTs
Cheers guys, Yup absolutely agree - the ability to breakout sections of Live (particularly VST's into separate processes) and the mixer seem like fairly rudamentry features of a DAW these days even with the one-window type interface :) Real shame because Live is the only DAW with a session view unde...

OSX Spaces with Live VSTs
Hi all,
Know theres been some discussion around the OSX spaces feature but cant find an answer to this.
Does anyone know if its possible to have Live (main window) running in one space and the VST's running in another? (Maybe some way to split the processes so OSX sees them?)
Cheers, Simmo

Re: Imported Midi keeps resetting soft synths? help!
I'm guessing theres a midi control command somewhere in the midi sequence that is telling the soft synth to reset but I cant find it anywhere In the Notes frame of every MIDI clip there's dropdowns for Bank-/Sub-Bank-/Program-change. Set them to "None". You can select multiple clips to se...

Imported Midi keeps resetting soft synths? help!
Hi All, So, I import a midi sequence into Live 8 (either a whole file or just notes), I then change the instrument in the AU/VST (for example set Absynth to pad). Every time I hit stop and play, the soft synth is reset to the first instrument. I'm guessing theres a midi control command somewhere in ...

Re: Altering track volume without changing envelopes?
Cheers Rinsemeister, exactly what I was looking for, nice oneRinsemeister wrote:Try putting a Utility on whichever tracks you wish to change the volume on.
You can then automate the gain knob without affecting the track volume automation.

Altering track volume without changing envelopes?
Hi all, Does anyone know if there is another way to change track volume other than the volume envelope (maybe track gain or something) in Live 8? So the scenario is: - Ive got a song composed with a bunch of automation and volume change envelopes across each track - Some of the tracks are too loud, ...

Re: Does the boxed version of Intro include any vocals
Oh ok. I know that they aren't mentioned on the product page, but Loopmaster has a lot of vocal loops so I thought that they might have included some with it. Also, has anyone tried out the vocal thing from Puremagnetik, and knows if it works with recent versions of Live? It says that it requires L...

Re: What program would you use to make this 3d-animation?
videocopilot.net provides tutorials around how to do some of that stuff with Adobe After Effects. It does also provide a level of modelling but Maya or 3DSmax are the industry leaders here. For new starters, there are quite a few samples/templates you can download (some free some not) to practice wi...

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?
1) x64 version as I'm having to maintain two VST libraries - one for Studio One, Cubase, Reaper (x64) and one for Live (x86). 2) Fully Skinnable like Reaper (so I can do strange things like have the background to wave clips fade from one colour to another) - quite random I know! (I know there are ut...

Re: Any Idea what VST deadmau5 is using in this video?
Not sure - but there's an interview here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPeUM3Fqx6w) on Youtube where he's on about using Reason, Ableton, Reaktor, FLStudio so it's likely he's either using them for his live sets or a frozen-to-wave version of the patterns Theres another video somewhere where it sh...
