This is about how I fixed audio dropouts and choppy performance using Live 4.0 and PowerCore FireWire.

Guts of my Live 4.0 DAW:
G5 Dual 1.8 256 RAM
MOTU 828 mkII
Eventide Eclipse 3.0 using ADAT I/O to the 828 mkII
Emagic AMT 8

I create music at 44.1K using:

Onboard G5:
Absynth

finally reached judd levison over a BBE. he is a windows guys, so he was just guessing.

he said that the installer installs a bunch of different versions of the plugin. he guessed that the "right" OSX vst plugin is labeled SonicMaximizerCarbon. all the other plugins were OS 9 and other ...

recap: running Live 4 on G5 Panther. installed BBE Sonic Maximizer VST 2 Plug-In. Live 4 does not see it.

ok. on the box it says Sonic Maximizer *IS* OSX compliant. so i guess the problem is Live 4. (i thought per my last post that maybe it was an OS 9 only plugin. :oops: )

just rec'd bbe sonic maximizer. installed with the (cheesy) zero G web installer. i noticed when that the installer could not see my plug-in folders!!!!

i have tried draggin' the 'SonicMaximizer' plugin to the %local%/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST folder to no avail -- Live 4 does not see it ...
