Likely that supply was the wrong polarity. I actually looked and could not see the polarity noted on the manufacturer's ...

Well, how are other capable of getting such low latency. My machine is fast yet I can't seem to get under 5ms.

The count in is for recording, it will only go off when you press play if your tracks are armed for recording, just unarm all tracks for playback and you should be fine...hope that helps.
