Re: Modifying one track with another, MIDI track
Ah, ok, so I need to do it manually? Not a problem, but I was wondering if there was some sort of automatic function in Live that would do that. You can output your drum track notes additionally via Midi-Yoke out, then use this Midi-Yoke as midi control input for Live, then assign those notes to an...

Re: List of non midi-mappable GUI components of Live 7 and 8
How do you change midi port and midi channel with dummyclips? I want 9 midi ports and 16 midi channels, in any combination, anytime choosable, as I wish, never using a mouse, only via midi events control.rdevries wrote:you can do this with dummyclips

Re: List of non midi-mappable GUI components of Live 7 and 8
Live 7, here the parameters I wished they were midi-mappable: 1. Midi-port selection 2. Midi-channel selection 3. Program change selection 4. Sub-Bank selection 5. Bank selection In short having the possibility to change to any sound on any of your synthesizers, mainly hardware synths. Each of the a...

List of non midi-mappable GUI components of Live 7 and 8
Which GUI components are you aware of which can NOT be midi-mapped in Live 7 or 8? Having such a big list in one glance would be interesting to find out if there is anything important which still can not be midi-mapped, for external control via midi controllers.

Re: Midi clock sync, Live is slave, tempo recording possible?
Whenever there is a tempo change, Live adds a warp marker to the audio file that is being recorded as a reference. You may possibly be able to use a clip like this as a 'master tempo', after the recording is done. To record one continuous clip throughout a set sounds challenging though.. Not a big ...

Midi clock sync, Live is slave, tempo recording possible?
When Live is running as slave to a midi clock master device, can we record all the midi clock tempo changes also into Live? If yes, how? If not, are there maybe any workarounds? What I want to avoid is triggering scenes with bpm value names in Live. Recording tempo events as midi into Live would hav...

Yeah, The midi channel part is not a bug - that's by design. I got that explained during the beta testing as well. Re: different Live Configurations possible?
i'm switching over to reaper for mixing, and i'd like to know if it's possible to startup ableton with different configurations. For example one with ASIO M-Audio USB and one with ASIO-ReaRoute, without having to change that manually. Hi fisto, how are you using Live with ReaRoute? My idea is compo...

My beef is this: I know you can do tons of stuff with python scripts, but why are the simple txt file scripts so limited? No mutes, send C, etcc... Re: how many tracks and scenes can you run without trouble?
It keeps everything separately dub-able (the clip tracks feed thru 12 subgroups) and many clip tracks have their own fx embedded so they're wet when they get to the subgroup - woof Do you have anywhere a visual diagram of this setup maybe? I would like to think through your setup, and why we have t...

Re: combine live sets?
Now we can only have (16 * 128) = 2048 "remote control notes" and 2048 "remote control cc". To complete this listing, we can also use 16 pitchbend events, one pitchbend per midi channel. So all together there are 2048 + 2048 + 16 = 4112 different events possible per midi port. A...

Re: combine live sets?
Ah I get you, I was only referring to copying assignments attached to clips/tracks/scenes... not copying just the assignments themselves. Yeah, in technical systems orthogonality of anything is usually a good thing, then you can freely combine those orthogonal components. A good example would be th...
