Re: Audio interface recommendation - 2x4, XLR, OS X, USB

I'll stop flaunting my ignorance when you stop flaunting your arrogance. Mine is a lack of knowledge, yours a lack of manners. However, it was precisely because I was aware of my ignorance on this subject that I asked for recommendations. It's a shame you weren't around to show off your superior kno...

Re: Audio interface recommendation - 2x4, XLR, OS X, USB

Why do you need to use two USB ports? The supplied USB cable has one B connector (for the Babyface) and two A connectors - one for data and plower, the other for more power (as it apparently requires more than the USB spec.) That said, it doesn't seem to be much worse if I just a normal A to B cable.

Re: Audio interface recommendation - 2x4, XLR, OS X, USB

I hate the Babyface. Since I'm on a Macbook Air, and the Babyface needs two USB connections, I have to connect it via a USB hub. But regardless of which hub and cables I use (and I've tried three different brands of hub!) it keeps disconnecting itself - so Live loses the Audio Device preferences (an...

Re: Audio interface recommendation - 2x4, XLR, OS X, USB

Thanks for all the advice. I was very tempted to get a Komplete Audio 6, but have just picked up... a Babyface! (Got a great deal on a second hand unit.) Probably gonna get a little A/D converter too, so I can plug in an extra stereo pair via the SPDIF. (While the Behringer ADA8200 looks like a grea...

Audio interface recommendation - 2x4, XLR, OS X, USB

Hi all, I'm on the look out for a new audio interface for my (mid-2013) Macbook Air (running Sierra). I've been using a MOTU Microbook II , but sadly it's joined an increasingly long line of unreliable interfaces (glitches and drop-outs regardless of host, DAW, configuration, cables, etc.) My minimu...

Re: Live 9 Suite Box

Was all the content in the download version, or is there any extra on the discs in the box (as with some previous version)?

Maybe. But IK meant major issues for me in XP too.

Re: T-Racks 3 Deluxe Group Buy.

Sounds like a good deal, but my previous experience of IK Multimedia means I won't be taking it up. They've provided no SampleTank bug fixes at all for almost two years, yet they've know about at least one critical bug (the one that affects my system) for even longer. All they can say is that they m...

Re: Live 5: Flanger LFO re-triggering

Wow. That's a blast from the past. I tried loads of different flanger VSTs, and none worked (or sounded) how I wanted. But I did find a solution in the end... I built a flanger in Live ( without using Max). I don't have it handy, but essentially I used a dummy clip to adjust a delay plug-in to creat...

In addition to the copy of Geist, we now have three copies of T-RackS3 to give away too!

Now if that's not four great reasons to come down, I don't know what is... ;)

Mapping group buttons (Learn, View, User, etc.) on 25SL MkII

I understand from Novation, that when in Automap Advanced mode (i.e. Automap light off) the six group buttons (Learn, View, User, FX, Inst, Mixer) can be MIDI-mapped in Ableton Live. However, when I'm in Automap Advanced mode, pressing any of these buttons puts the 25SL back into Automap mode! Has a...

Launchpad: MIDI mapping mode buttons -> LED weirdness

I'd like to turn certain LED feedback on and off when entering different Launchpad modes. "Easy", I thought, "I'll just map the MIDI signal from the mode buttons to slots containing clips that do what I need." And it works. Sort of. But there's a snag. While doing this does seems to make the LED fee...

Re: Audio Interface with REALLY short latency?

Speaking of Echo, I have an AudioFire2. Despite Live reporting low latency figures, it never seems to be quite low enough when I'm playing keyboards. (Could that be down to the actual VSTi - usually SampleTank?) This is on a four year old MacBook Pro, so a newer computer may give better results. Any...

Say it ain't so! :?

The LED rings was one of the main reasons I upgraded (the other being the pads). But I haven't been able to spend much time with it yet. Hoping there's a workaround...
