Re: Clip Loop Brace
on p.112 of the manual it says the Clip Brace canbe midi mapped. This is not the case for me (without Autohotkeys) - is this a mistake in the manual, or am I just misreading it? You have to map the "position" field in the sample box. Mapping the "Position" field to a midi number...

Re: Any programmers here?
Thanks - how long would it take to learn do you reckon? You will always be learning. Each time you start a new project will be a learning experience. Ask yourself when do you want to start learning... So basically it is subjective... One do you have the aptitude to operate in this mind set and two ...

Re: Any programmers here?
The Dietel How to Program C++ is a good start. This is a very common book used in academia for learning to program. Their C book is pretty good as well. The other stuff has not gotten as much praise, but I found the format is similar in most of them so it does work well if have already started with ...

Re: Any programmers here?
Your language choices should be somewhat defined by the systems you will interact with. If you are going down the Microsoft path you would want to stick with VB, C# and Powershell (One should understand that the next platforms to be released by MS will be implementing a new run time environment. Thi...

Re: Moving the computer out of the studio
it's 5V, not 6V. voltage drop isn't the issue, over 15 feet it would be negligible. it's a signal integrity issue due to the high frequency of the signal, you need more tightly controlled impedances on the line to avoid reflections, it's all scienceshit. From what I understand it's more about the t...

Re: What would be the main advantage(s) for 64 bit?
As a software company it would keep them from going extinct. Almost all current processors in the PC market are 64 bit, therefore driving 64bit OSes to market. So running 32bit apps in a 64bit environment requires an emulator. This adds an additional layer for potential problems and as with all thin...

I find spectrum analyzers most useful when designing instruments or sounds and something audibly noticeable is occurring but the source of which is not immediately known. unwanted noise, artifacts, phasing, etc...

Re: Live 9 Ableton feedback
Grassroots here as well, it does appear that the amount of time that has passed would allude to something big occurring in the Ableton world to the likes of: - A complete rewrite from the ground up. - Introduction of 64bit support, this obviously has to occur if one wants to continue to be viewed as...

I couldn't even sit through the entire new DJ Shadow album but I haven't liked anything he's done since Entroducing. maybe I need to give it another try. (YAY Rhapsody!) new albums for 2011 I'm liking Cars - Move Like This (highly surprising) Death Cab For Cutie - Codes and Keys (a departure from t...
