Alesis Strike MultiPad vs Roland SPD-SX Drum Pads
About to pull the trigger on a percussion multi-pad and I need just a little more input...I've read other forums' responses to this matchup, but I'm curious how Ableton users weigh in on this. Bonus points for specific details (+/-s about ergonomics, reliability, features, ease of use, durability, et...

Roland Handsonic HPD-15 and LIve 10
Is anyone using an old Roland Handsonic HPD-15 as a midi controller for Live 10? I just acquired one and am using a cheapo Hosa Midi to UBS converter to control sounds in Live, but it is a struggle to map this thing to a very basic drum rack. Is the HPD-15 obsolete for this purpose?

thanks much, that did it...wonder why staffpad exports them as ".midi" files. Annoying.pottering wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 3:05 amTry renaming .midi to .mid, it should work.

Importing StaffPad midi files into Ableton
I am new to using StaffPad and am trying to export midi files from it and import them into Ableton. I am having no luck so far. The midi file exports as ".midi" format and is "greyed out" when trying to import into Ableton. Drag and drop doesn't work either. Any idea what I might...

Re: Why I prefer Pro Tools for mixing instead of Ableton Live
Great video, and I agree completely...many of us would likely appreciate a similar video showing the most efficient way to get projects/stems/tracks from Ableton into Pro Tools.
cheers!

Collaboration issues
Is there really no way to back save to an earlier version of Live for collaboration purposes? In 2018?

thanks, I think the Eventide pedals allow CV pedals to be used to control selected parameters.

most reliable midi volume/expression foot controller
Any thoughts on buying an inexpensive midi volume/expression foot controller, primarily for Eventide effects (Pitchfactor, Modfactor, Timefactor...) Anyone happy with a midi foot controller? In other words, is this garbage? https://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-EX-P-Expression-Pedal/dp/B000NLRWEI/ref=sr_1_...

Re: What's your Live controller and why?
Thanks for the replies, folks. I'm leaning towards a Akai MPK249 now...or maybe I should go with a less expensive keyboard and some sort of button-y/knob-y-only thing. Thoughts?

Re: What's your Live controller and why?
The most difficult thing is that they all seem nearly exactly the same, but I am certain that they are not. Years ago, I used the M-Audio Axiom line, and liked it, but now there are so many other options that are not simply keyboard controllers. Although I want a keyboard, I'm very interested in som...

Re: korg triton taktile 49
Has a few quirks that, although they're not deal breakers, they make it not super appealing. The price is slightly high. The sizes available are limited, and you can't trigger the built-in sounds externally, which is severely limiting if you were hoping to use the sounds in any way other than playi...

korg triton taktile 49
I'm looking to get back into using Live again. I currently have Live Suite version 8.3.4 and am looking to upgrade and get a new controller. The one that seems most appealing is the Korg Triton Taktile 49, mainly because of it's built in Triton sounds and low price point. It seems, however, that it ...

Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP vs. Focusrite Saffire Pro 24
Anyone have experience with DSP model of the Saffire box? I have narrowed down to these two to replace my Digi 002. I like the lightpipe option, the small portable nature of the box, and the guy at Sweetwater highly recommends them over comparable boxes. Any suggestions for or against are most welco...
