Re: Akai Fire as a controller for Live

I received some PMs requesting to see CrossFire in action. Fair enough. Here you go:

Akai Fire as a controller for Live

This video demonstrates the possibilities you can expect when using Fire out-of-the-box with Live. Of course, things can go much, much deeper if scripts and/or M4L devices get involved in the fun. I'm working on some tools to allow for that now and wanted to get a gauge on interest. Specifically, w...

Re: Each row of pads on Push2 uses different midi channels??

The reason the Push controllers do this is to facilitate playback feedback – so that pads corresponding to notes coming out of a track will light up as the notes are played. Since multiple pads can correspond to the same note, multiple channels are needed to allow for proper feedback. It's unlikely ...

Re: Help Launching Multiple Audio Clips With Same MIDI Note

In ClyphX/ClyphX Pro, you'd use X-Controls for this, which add no latency whatsoever (unlike X-Clips). Also, unlike MIDI mapping, using X-Controls would make this mapping available in any set you opened as opposed to it only being available in sets that contain the MIDI mapping.

Re: nativeKONTROL - ClyphX Pro - OUT NOW!

Actions don't have any associated delays. X-Clips are subject to a delay of up to 100 ms . In ClyphX, only X-Clips could store/recall snaps, so they would always be subject to the X-Clip delay. In ClyphX Pro, all X-Triggers (including X-Controls, which have 0 delay) can store/recall snaps. In other ...

Re: assign multiple midi controls for a single parameter

The APC would be irrelevant in this case since it controls the master volume via a script. So you just need to worry about the other two controllers.

Re: Push 2 switching between User and Live Mode outside Live??

Outside of Live, the two modes are essentially identical. The only difference between them is the ports they use. If you're using an app that depends on a particular mode being selected (which would mean that the app is hardcoded to use a particular set of ports), it should send out the SysEx messa...

Re: assign multiple midi controls for a single parameter

MIDI mapping is strictly concerned with MIDI messages. The same MIDI message can be sent from any number of MIDI controllers. You can't change the MIDI messages the MIDI Mix sends, but I would guess that you can change the MIDI messages send by the iPad. If that's true, simply set up the iPad to sen...

Re: Push 2 switching between User and Live Mode outside Live??

Apps/scripts...same difference. Unless the ports the app/script uses are hardcoded (meaning you can't manually select the ports to use), then the app/script likely doesn't care about which mode the controller is in. If the mode you're in does matter, either the app/script is intended to be used with...

Re: nativeKONTROL - ClyphX Pro - OUT NOW!

Sounds pretty similar to how I did it. The Drum Rack isn't a "cheat sheet" though as the names of the pads actually dictate what ClyphX Pro actions will be triggered. And the names are constantly observed so that they can be changed on the fly to trigger different actions. That way, users never need...
