is it possible in the arrange view to split just ONE clip, rather than every clip on every track (which in turn unfreezes those other tracks)?

When I select just one clip, the split command on the edit menu is grayed out and therefore unusable.

Know exactly what you mean, this was driving me mad ...

move the decoded wave files to a separate folder and use these instead of the MP3's. as said earlier Live will always decode the MP3 , so you might as well save it, and you, the bother

This drives me mad too.

The 'back to arrangement' comes on during playback if you change a parameter you have automated. So if you've recorded automation on the filter, playback and then move the filter even the slightest fraction, then 'back to arrangement' comes on, the automation goes dark red ...

I've heard there's a way to load these into sampler in live using logic's exs sampler, but I don't have logic so haven't tried ...

there's a bug with the samples which causes the missing file message. Locate the sample in your browser and if it's a .wav rename ot to .aiff and vice versa

the recent file list is in

user/library/preferences/ableton/live (version no)/preferences.cfg

If you delete the file it will clear the list but also clear any other defaults you've applied to you template. You can however hack the file and just delete the recent file list

i wish i had gone to this school

yeah me too. This is wicked. The vocals sound far more mature than the age of the rappers would suggest and echo the early comments about the underground feel and not being slick and overproduced. Music is about feeling and groove not fancy production techniques ...
