Re: Advice Request - New PC Build To Overcome Clicks in Live 10

Indeed! You get what you pay for with RME. The ground loop was purely related to the mixer being attached to the PC. :D

Re: Advice Request - New PC Build To Overcome Clicks in Live 10

Hi All, Just an update on this. So, I took a leap of faith and purchased the new PC components at the weekend. Spent most of Saturday afternoon and evening surrounded by nuts, bolts, cables and manuals, scratching my head (it’s been a while since I’ve built a machine). Got it all up and running and ...

Re: Advice Request - New PC Build To Overcome Clicks in Live 10

Hi Stromkraft,

Yup, that was the thinking behind my RME purchase back in 2014 (jeez, time fly's!)

So are you using your Babyface with Live 10? If so, what’s your computer setup, and what sort of buffer/bit-rate do you run?

Re: Advice Request - New PC Build To Overcome Clicks in Live 10

Hi all, thank you for your replies. Just for clarification, I have primarily been using the latest RME drivers for the Babyface. I tried ASIO4ALL to see if it made an improvement, which sadly it didn’t. Also, I set up a Behringer U-Phoria UM2 audio interface as part of the troubleshooting process (m...

Advice Request - New PC Build To Overcome Clicks in Live 10

Hello Everyone, I’m on the cusp of buying some components for a new audio PC to run Live 10. My 2 year-old GIGABYTE Brix (i5 2.40GHz Dual-core, 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz) hasn’t been cutting it since upgrading from Live 9. I ran in to a fair amount of clicks and pops, so went through all the diagnostics avai...

Re: Windows 7, Live 9 - Recommended Soundcard? RME?

Thanks everyone for their input and advice. So, there a few more suggestions for me to investigate and weigh up. Ironically my FW410 hasn’t crashed since my first post. Maybe it knows it might be on its way out the door! I had had a look at the Profire 610, due to it being a successor of the FW410. ...

Re: Windows 7, Live 9 - Recommended Soundcard? RME?

Hi Khazul,

Thanks for the reply.

So that sounds like a thumbs up for the Babyface then. The more I read about, the more appealing it gets.

I'm impressed at the low latencies being reported online, especially given that this is a USB 2.0 device.

Windows 7, Live 9 - Recommended Soundcard? RME?

Hi All, I'm looking to replace my M-Audio FW410, because its old and I experience regular loss of audio since upgrading to WIn7, which requires me to restart the PC. I've tried all the tweaks that Ableton recommends, but this still happens, and not just with Live - any application which utilizes aud...

Live and Mackie Onyx series - Firewire Mixers - Latency???

Hi All, Is anyone using a Firewire mixer? I'm interested in consolidating my audio interface and mixer in to one bit of kit and was considering the Onyx 820i, but I don't want to run in to any issues, especially latency related. I'm currently using an old Mackie 1202-VLZ mixer which has been solid f...
