Video rendering - why does it look like crap?
Hey all - I'm wondering why, when I render a video in Live 8.2, it is all pixelated. The original video (something I made in iMovie HD (a terrible program, by the way) is fine quality. But I put it in Live, warp it on the Complex Pro setting, match it up with my audio track using warp markers, and w...

Re: Good compression plugins
Thank you all!
I recently got Live 8 and haven't tried all the compressors yet. Maybe there are some good ones I'm ignoring. When folks say the Ableton compressor isn't bad, which one specifically are you referring to?
Thank you!

mono vs. stereo tracks?
Hi again peeps - I'm mixing tracks in arrangement view - some of the stems i'm working with are mono files, others are stereo files. I'd like to place them in the appropriate tracks in Live, but I can't figure out how to tell if the audio track I've inserted is mono or stereo. Anyone know how to det...

Good compression plugins
Hello all!
As much as I love Live, its native effects are not always ideal. I'm looking for a really compression, limiter, and eq plugins. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks!

tempo and pitch in simpler
Hi Is there any way to play a sample chromatically in Simpler without the tempo changing? Lower keys on my midi keyboard play the clip slower, higher keys play it faster. This makes sense, but means I can't play any natural sounding progression since the tempo is all over the place. Is there some so...

Session view: launching one clip and one only
Prosaic question: How do I launch only one clip in a scene without launching the entire scene? I'm trying to set up my session view for djing. Live is going to be a second "turntable," and I want to throw some beat loops, effects, and whole songs into session view. I've got my beats stacke...

I knew sombody'd say I shouldn't be using iTunes :) Have to say despite the lame USB storage functionality, it's a great device. Very versatile. I got 2 because I wanted the option to do standard AB mixing and scratching (and the 400s have excellent scratching capabilities), but also wanted to be ab...

Pioneer CDJ 400s - big fat sucky drawback
So I love my new 400s... except when it comes to using the supposedly fabulous new USB functionality. Since it will only play MP3 files from a USB storage device, I now have to convert practically my entire library. i-Tunes is all protected AAC files, which won't work, and the shit I rip from CDs co...

Connecting ALP5s thru Saffire LE
Noob alert. I've got my new ALP5 studio monitors plugged in and hooked up to my Saffire LE with 1/4" balanced cables. My audio preferences are set up right on my lappie, but lo I hear nary a sound. The set-up says to "consult the pin diagram" on the back of the monitors, and I am thus...
