Re: CPU 30% when the track is not playing?
Thanks for the hints. I've always found that Live reduces CPU when not playing. It's very efficient that way. But some things do make it use CPU when supposedly not doing anything. Firstly, are there open plugin user interfaces open? I find if a plugin GUI is visible then CPU may be being used even ...

CPU 30% when the track is not playing?
Good day there folks, lately I observed a strange behaviour with my L9 copy, concerning my notebook's CPU usage. Even when my track (15 tracks, some audio, some Midi) is not playing, Process explorer (Win7) shows a usage of Live 9 at 30%. Normally I wouldn't care, but my notebook always fires up the...

Re: Where the hell has "Crash Recovery gone" in Ableton 9 !!??
Well as a Windows user one of the first things I learnt doing was pressing the magic "Ctrl-S" every five minutes, no matter what program I'm using (mainly Word back then - did not want to lose my study works and stuff due to the common blue screens...) So with L9 guess what the most presse...

Re: Bring back vol pan and transposition buttons in Clip View
+1... and what I REALLY don't get is how a larger company like Ableton can let a thread like this go for 2 pages without a response, whereas a small outfit like U-He can have Urs Heckmann respond to stuff like this at the KVR forum within minutes and almost always within the day... Perhaps they don...

Re: Avoid the Crash Report screen
Not meant to be snobby or anything; but IMO the best way to avoid it is not to have any crash at all ;-) I tend to agree with your comment about the first time a crash occurs, but even then this information might be useful for Ableton. Would we all stop sending in those reports then it (c/w)ould ma...

As often misleading, not really a track but an elaborated loop, hope for session two.

If you don't really need 64bit, then don't install.
(That's what you find in the FAQ)

Re: Using my Ableton 8 library in Live 9?
My concern is that i wont be able to do that with a newer version of ableton, because i dont want to overwrite, or delete, newer vst versions or extra presets that are in the live 9 default library that werent in the live 8 one As far as the infos go the L8 library stays independent of the 9 versio...

Re: Ever seen a soundcard with low latency without using ASIO?
I'd like that.doghouse wrote:Why do you want to avoid ASIO?
I often produce while watching Youtube tutorials for inspiration, and this guarantees crashes on a regular basis (Live and/or ASIO is so sensitive when several sources use it).
Or I have my Foobar running - Live doesn't like that either.

Re: Using my Ableton 8 library in Live 9?
One being I will be installing Live 9 on a brand new PC. So my library is on a backup drive, so hopefully Live 9 has a method of importing the live 8 library manually I'm pretty sure you could just copy the whole Library folder to your new machine (you already should have a backup on an external st...

Re: what is your opinion on the new envelope curves>
Just to illustrate: Live's "fades" (that they already had) and New Feature: curved automation. http://i.imgur.com/uTpYNDf.jpg You wouldn't hear a difference anyway, so why bother? Just for the smoother looks? disagree, though of course it would depend on the parameter being automated. But...
