If Ableton users honestly think Windows is stable and memory efficient, then they must be really ignorant (well, most Windows users are). Too bad, as the development team is great.

How much RAM is used by Live according to Task-Manager? And what CPU load does Task-Manager report when you set it's refresh rate to "High" (will display short spikes) and to "Low" (will show the average load)?

Even if you ain't using Midi try switching off all Midi Ports via Live's Preferences ...

I've seen topics like this but only on Mac.
Live 7.0.2 was working perfectly until 2 days ago. I get random CPU spikes (up to 3000% or something in Live CPU meter) and audio dropouts even if I'm not doing anything.

Can anyone tell me all the possible causes of this?

I was trying to render a VERY short loop (length: 3/4 of a beat...3 1/16 notes).

It seems to work at rendering phase but it always saves a BLANK wav!!

This is a good idea. Actually, I was surprised it wasn't added in Live 7.

I already fixed the problem.
Since I just copied the files with the DLLs, I forgot some plug-ins take the presets from other folders. I had to reinstall them again. Moderators can delete topic if you want, thanks.
